Marquees are one of the most popular wedding venue choices by couples in the UK. They are totally flexible offering a blank canvas and have the ability to find the perfect spot to pitch it.

I have found some of my favourite images from marquee weddings featured on these very web pages, with some ideas and help in planning the perfect marquee wedding.

Marquee Decor

Decorating a marquee is so much fun. Usually tents come in white, so the options are endless to stamp your own personality. Some tents come patterned which can be really striking, so its best to keep things simple. But if you are having a plain marquee, go colourful. Add bunting, balloons, pom poms, lanterns or coloured fabric. Decorate tables with flowers or even a cherry blossom tree. Wrap the marquee poles in foliage and add fun chairs. You can opt for long tables or round, go without a top table or even have a picnic wedding breakfast on blankets.

Marquee Location

When having a marquee wedding perhaps the best thing is being able to have a beautiful setting. Pop one up in a relatives pretty garden, find a spot with a sea view, or even around a pool. If you have a scenic view why not opt for an open marquee or even one with large windows for the loveliest of backdrops.

Marquee Wedding Ceremony

You may be able to conduct a legal ceremony in a marquee especially if the structure is permanent at a venue. Or you could go for a humanist blessing instead. Create a pretty arch to take your vows beneath or create an aisle with giant balloons for a touch of fun.

Cosy Marquee Corners

It is a fab idea to segment your marquee into different areas. Cosy corners can be a chill out area for guests to get away from the party. Go for hay bale seats for a cost effective rustic option or even bring along sofas and quirky lampshades to make guests feel at home.
