Lisa + Mitch love the desert, robots, fun in the sun, bounce houses – and most importantly parties where everyone is having a good time! Sounds like my kind of peeps! :) Combining these super fun elements is what inspired their eclectic + playful Rim Rock Ranch wedding in Pioneertown, California. Lisa wore white doc martins + a vintage Marc Jacobs jacket, guests dined at wooden picnic tables decorated with rustic wildflower centerpieces, everyone jumped in a bounce house + hit a robot-shaped piñata… and the best part? The whole wedding cost under $10,000!

Lisa + Mitch created such a perfect, laid-back feel for their reception. And it was ”unplugged” (there was no cell phone reception!) so felt like an escape, for everyone, from the daily routine.

First: The bounce house collapsing, trapping some of our friends inside. Hilarity ensued.

Second: After finishing the ceremony and walking down the aisle, we later returned to a crowd of familiar people who were all crying. There were so many people who were deeply touched by our wedding -- we found this both surprising and beautiful.

And how amazing is their robot cake topper?!

The venue even has old Airstream trailers for your guests to stay in. Seriously in love with this place!

 

Have fun with the planning process. Think of it like the first big party that you're throwing. Anything goes, so long as you both want it to!

Also, relax and remember that, no matter what happens, you will be married by the end of the day.
