The Urban Vintage Bride

The Urban Vintage Bride

Hello readers! The pretty just doesn’t stop this week on b.loved!  Needless to say I get some pretty exciting styled shoot submissions in my inbox, but the ones that most excite me are the ones that are showcasing something refreshing and new.  That’s exactly what I loved about today’s shoot from Charlotte Garratt and Emma Lucy Photography, who mixed Charlotte’s vintage bridal designs with a gritty urban backdrop and absolutely stunning statement bouquets & headpieces from Fearless Florals to create something a little unique.

The shoot came about as I’ve been wanting to shoot with the fabulous Emma Lucy ever since she moved to Brighton, and after chatting with her with we decided to base it there as she knew the area and lots of fabulous places to go! We wanted to create an urban, edgy look which is very much Emma’s style, and I wanted to focus it on bridal fashion to inspire brides and give them an idea of a few different looks that can be easily achievable. So we combined the edgy, fun streets of Brighton with fashionable styling!

Look one is very much a glamorous look, with a beautiful forehead piece by Glitzy Secrets as the main focus point. Around this we decided to style the hair with lots of height, sweeping into an elegant plait. Make-up added drama with a hint of colour to the eyelids whilst the gown, with a full skirt in lightweight satin chiffon creates a great photo opportunity! We decided to change the look up, alternating between a stunning brooch bouquet, and an equally stunning floral number. Matching earrings and bracelet finished the overall look.

For look two, we wanted to create something slightly more chic and sophisticated. A statement floral piece of fresh flowers is a fun, chic alternative to a hair wreath and is another great feature for a photo op.

For later in the day we choose to switch this with a beautiful hand made creation by Natasha Jane. The red lipstick and backless style of the dress add a hint of daring, and to finish the look Marsha Hall created a pair of stunning bespoke shoes made with lace from the dress.
