It’s that dreaded time of year again for a lot of my friends… It’s back to school. I must confess, I always enjoyed going back to school as a kid after the summer holidays… it was only when I got to secondary school that it started bringing on a fear! Looking back now, it all went too fast and well, I’d love another week back with the girls on the hill. Just a week. One memory I still have of my days in primary school is that victorious feeling every time my hand was selected from a wave of small fingers to write on the blackboard. There was something about getting a fresh piece of white chalk, scraping it on the board and then wiping your hands free of the white dust on your school jumper. Nowadays it’s all whiteboards and ipads but in the spirit of childhood nostalgia, today we are sharing this chalkboard wedding inspiration board. Using chalkboard details in a wedding makes it very easy to achieve an old-school vibe, one of fun and playfulness and it’s hard to go wrong. Select your details carefully and don’t overdo it. I love how it works against this neutral palette of ivory, grey, blue and black against rustic wood. If you are going to write out your boards yourself, make sure you’re consistent in your font style (ie. careful if you are mixing calligraphy with bold type face) and take the lead from your invitation suite.
