The beautiful south west corner of the UK is a great place to get married and today we’re taking a look at three superb wedding venues in Somerset. The rolling hills, valleys and beautiful landscaped gardens of these stunning venues make them perfect for wedding groups looking for scenic views and peaceful countryside.

Hestercombe Gardens

Hestercombe Gardens is a beautiful venue with the capacity to cater for very intimate weddings up to groups of 150 inside and 200 with a marquee. Hestercombe has five different ceremony and reception settings on offer including an orangery, a temple, a barn, the Marquee Lawns and Bampfylde Hall which has a courtyard. There are multiple beautiful areas for photos including a lake on the grounds and a fifty acres of gardens with a selection of different styles from formal to more wild.

Coombe Lodge

A gorgeous stone tudor-style mansion, Coombe Lodge is situated on an incline with stunning views of the Chew Valley. The light-filled Music Room can host weddings of up to 160 seated guests with a dedicated wedding coordinator on site. The venue is situated just four miles from Bristol city, amidst fifteen acres of beautifully landscaped gardens. Nine guest rooms can accommodate the bridal party and there are several ceremony locations on offer including chandelier-lit reception rooms and garden spaces.

Cleeve Abbey

Cleeve Abbey is an ancient Cistercian abbey dating from the 13th century situated in a beautiful valley with lovely surrounding countryside. Guests’ first view of the Abbey is of the lovely Gatehouse at the entrance (below). The Cloister courtyard is a beautiful option for a wedding ceremony but there are four other options including the Refectory Hall, Chapter House, Warming Room and Dormitory. The Abbey can accommodate wedding groups of up to 100 guests.
