A Chic & Classic Parisian Inspired Wedding

A Chic & Classic Parisian Inspired Wedding

WWW readers Chris and Jenna had a chic and classic wedding which epitomises a timeless feel.

Jenna wanted her bridal look to be reminiscent of iconic brides such as Kate Middleton and Grace Kelly and so opted for a traditional dress with lace sleeves. She chose a vintage style up do, a fingertip veil and those Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes as her something blue.

There was a cascading bouquet of Lily of the Valley and Freesia, sweet cupcake favours and delicious looking food.

Thanks so much to the wonderful Victoria Phipps for sharing her images with us today.

The Proposal… Versailles, Paris (you can see their engagement shoot here)

The Vision for the Day… A traditional wedding filled with happy memories with our closest friends and family. Oh and a tiny hint of Parisian charm!

The Planning Process… 2 very long years!!!

Budget… £20,000 – all paid for my our parents (we were very lucky!)

The Venue… Holy Cross Church, Woodchurch (Wirral) – where Chris’s parents married 30 years ago. Doubletree by Hilton, Chester – recommended my Jenna’s Mum.

The Dress + Accessories… Dress: Blue by Enzoani ‘England’ with added custom lace top. Shoes: Manolo Blahnik ‘something blue’ – there was no contest for my something blue! Necklace: A gift from Chris’s late Grandma Hilary. Veil: Wedding Veils Direct – Inspired by Grace Kelly (fingertip length). Haircomb: Sweetheart Vintage.

Finding the Dress… With iconic dresses in mind (Kate Middleton, Grace Kelly) it took a few months to locate the perfect dress, even if it needed slightly customising. I wanted a dress that was timeless and traditional, a dress I will be proud to pass down as a family heirloom. Ivory, long sleeves and lace where my main criteria.

Groom’s Attire… Suit: Hired from Groom (Chester) – when else does a guy get to wear tails! Tie-pin: Jenna’s late Grandfather’s. Shoes: Paul Smith.

The Readings + Music… Processional: I Was Glad. Readings: Romans12:1,2,9-18 and Colossians3.12-17. Hymms: Great Redeemer, Love Divine and Jerusalem. Recessional: Elgar Pomp and Circumstance.

Beautiful Bridesmaids… Danielle – Friend for 13 years. Jenny – Friend for 20 years. Sarah – Now sister-in-law.

The Flowers… Simple and meaningful for the bouquets, fresh and vibrant for the reception. Bridal Hand-Tie: Slight cascade of Freesia, Gypsophila, Lily of the Valley. Groom’s Button Hole: Ivory Rose with Lily of the Valley. Bridesmaids: Posy of Ivory Avalanche Roses. Button Holes: Blush Pink Rose.

Top Table: A collection of 8 different containers and vases filled with Peonies, Roses, Sweet Peas, Hydrangea and Stocks. Guest Tables: – 2 Kilner jars and 2 tea cups filled with a mix of Pink Peonies, Stock, Freesia, Scented Foliage, Sweet Peas and Dahlias.

The Cake… Simple and traditional design, funded by Jenna’s Granddad who sadly passed away just a week prior to the wedding.

Your Photographer… The fabulous Victoria Phipps, who got rave reviews on the day for her relaxed, friendly and professional approach. Victoria needs no direction and always delivers!

The Details + Decor… Kilner jars (Groom’s idea). Table and seat covers provided by JJs Venue Dressing – traditional ivory with a hint of pink. The Abbey Suite in Doubletree – chosen for it’s converted barn interior, exposed brick and chandliers.

The Honeymoon… A week’s safari in Kenya followed by a week of relaxation in Zanzibar. During week 1 we visted Amboselli National Park, Lake Nakuru and the Massi Mara and were very lucky to photograph the big five. Zanzibar was a welcomed week of relaxation during week 2.

Memorable Moments… Chris – Jenna walking down the aisle. Jenna – Saying my vows.

Advice for Other Couples… Chris – Enjoy every moment of the day and relax! Jenna – Marry the person you want to spend the rest of your life with and mean every vow you make.
