Keri and Chris tied the knot in June at the lovely Grittenham Barn, West Sussex. They wanted their wedding to be down to earth, non fussy and personal to them. There were pretty wild flowers, vintage crockery and streams of bunting.

Keri and Chris looked super stylish in blue Paul Smith suits with stripy ties and socks, tan shoes and daffodil buttonholes. Such a dashing and loved up pair.

The Proposal… In a 18th Century converted Dovecote on the Northumberland coast.

The Vision for the Day… A day that reflected us. Non-fussy and down to earth. Very personal with all our friends and family there to enjoy it.

The Planning Process… Generally stress-free though the last week threw up a few wobbles (involving a fridge and some disappearing tablecloths).

Budget… £12,000

The Venue… Grittenham Barn, Tillington, West Sussex

The Suits… We both wore Paul Smith suits.

Finding the Suits… Despite months of fruitless searching for off the peg suits, we were all ready to bite the bullet and get them made-to-measure. Luckily we stumbled across a little shop in the Laines in Brighton. First suits we tried on were perfect.

The Readings + Music… Keri’s seven year old nephew read Bring Me Sunshine, a friend of ours arranged Ashokan Farewell plus a Welsh hymn and Northumberland folksong to relflect our heritage. The congregation sang It Must Be Love by Madness as we walked out.

The Flowers… Cornflowers and local wildflowers from the Barn. Picked and arranged by Angel Skillman.

The Cake… Nothumberland and Welsh cheeses.

Your Photographer… Pippa Heath. She was absolutely brilliant.

The Details + Decor… Miles of home made bunting which a friend of ours made. Vintage crockery from Doily Days and home made table numbers by Chris’s niece.

The Honeymoon… A week in Greece.

Memorable Moments… Too many to mention. A surprise film from our friends in Australia, gorgeous weather, our dog walker turned up with out little dog for a special guest appearance. Everyone belting out Madness at the end of the ceremony.

Advice for Other Couples… Do it.
