Wedding Reception Venues in Croatia

Wedding Reception Venues in Croatia

via

Morning lovelies! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I had a blast at the races! The weather was amazing and I found a really simple pencil dress from Mango on Friday night so I felt the part! This week we are busy preparing for a shoot in New Zealand and it’s coming together nicely! It’s been so much fun getting to meet creatives from around the world as I travel! As you know, we like to respond to reader requests and one email I’ve been getting a lot of recently is from brides on the search for wedding venues in Croatia. Croatia is a beautiful place and it’s becoming increasingly popular with todays destination bride. Today we are looking at three wedding reception venues in Croatia and it hardly seems enough so over the next few weeks we will be putting together a more comprehensive guide on the region including locations for ceremonies, boat trips and other lovely wedding day ideas that Croatian couples can avail of. For today, we are starting in the beautiful old town of Dubrovinik.

The Pucic Palace

If it’s a European city chic wedding you are lusting after, then Dubrovnik ticks so many of the right boxes and with a venue like The Pucić Palace, located on the Gundulić square right in the middle of Old Town Dubrovnik, it doesn’t really get any better than that. Situated amidst an abundance of iconic monuments, cultural museums, bustling restaurants and cafes, the 5 star, 17th Century Baroque Building hotel is an ideal choice for the couple hoping looking marry in the thick of it all, giving guests a wonderful city weekend break at the same time. With 17 luxury rooms and two suites, the hotel is beautifully decorated with old authentic features while all the time providing it’s guests with modern comforts. Wedding receptions can be held in one of the one of the three restaurants, our favourite being Define as it’s this outdoor terace surrounded with jasmine trees and citrus flowers that will leave you with memories to be cherished forever.

Villa Heraclea

You might recall the stunning town of Hvar from this beautiful wedding we featured and it has to be our most popular request for venues when it comes to weddings in Croatia. When we came across Villa Heraclea on our hunt for wedding venues there, we were immediately besotted with beautiful Baroque style villa. Located in the centre and historical core of Hvar, it is situated only a stones throw away from the riva, sea and promenade. With 5 bedrooms, a large living area, kitchen and dining room, it is an ideal base for a destination wedding and time will be well spent relaxing in the large garden of lemons, oranges, figs, lavender and rosemary plants if the sauna, jacuzzi and heated pool isn’t enough. Your wedding ceremony can take place in the garden followed by an expertly catered dinner reception before taking the party down to Carpe Diem Beach Club.

Hotel Balatura

Last but not least, our next venue is for those who are yearning for something very special. If a small, intimate family wedding off the beaten track is more in in line with what you are thinking, then Hotel Balatura could be a nice alternative. Not far from the seaside resort of Crikvenica you will find the small, peaceful village of Tribalj where Hotal Balatura is located. The family owned, farmhouse style hotel has 10 rooms on offer and a beautiful leafy courtyard, perfect for a relaxed family wedding. The farmhouse is quite bohemian like in decor but cosy and comfortable at the same time. The surroundings is what makes this hidden gem so special as it’s secluded spot is backed by the Vinodol valley, guaranteeing visitors a calm, tranquil and peaceful stay. Moving here after a Croatian city break to celebrate a wedding would be a great way to allow guests to see a completely different side to Croatia while at the same time, offering them a chance to unwind and enjoy such a momentous occasion such as a wedding.

Thats it for today folks. We hope we have introduced some new and less popular venues to you and if you have any recommendations of your own, please send them our way!
