Rose McGowan + Davey Detail’s Wedding: Part 1

Rose McGowan + Davey Detail’s Wedding: Part 1

via

Happy Monday, lovelies! We’re SO excited to start the week off with the gorgeous wedding of one of our favorite actresses – Rose McGowan – and her artist husband, Davey Detail. It made my day when I learned that Rose is a fan of GWS and wanted us to share her special day! :)

Brides-to-be will be happy to hear that Rose had an absolute blast planning her wedding. I know I was a bit nervous about all of the work ahead of me when I began planning my wedding, but once I got into it, I just loved the entire process! It’s always nice to hear of other brides that  loved the planning process as much as me….and it’s super encouraging for brides-to-be that may be intimidated by their wedding planning to-do list. Rose was also sweet enough to share some of her favorite memories from the day, offer advice to other brides, and let us see all the gorgeous details she incorporated! Thanks so much Rose!!

Rose + Davey’s whimsical + romantic wedding took place on Oct 12th at The Paramour Mansion in Silverlake, California. It was planned by the talented team at Amber Events and photographed by Callaway Gable. And since Davey is an artist, he designed their wedding invitations seen below! Love that…

More about the Paramour Mansion from wedding planner Amber Gustafson: “Built in 1923 by silent film star Antonio Moreno and his wife and oil heiress, Daisy Canfield Danziger, The Paramour Mansion is 22,000 square feet and 4.2 acres of amazing. Set on a hill in Silverlake, California, the juxtaposition of the mansion’s old world romance against the downtown LA skyline is breathtaking. The mansion was convent for Franciscan Nuns from 1950 to 1980 and in 1998 the estate was purchased by restaurateur Dana Hollister. Dana traveled the world collecting unique artifacts and has filled the mansion with priceless antiques and oddities such as a taxidermied zebra and polar bear.” Oh, and it is also supposedly haunted!

Rose looked stunning in her Monique Lhuillier gown. And I absolutely adore her bright, berry-hued lips…Such a fun choice!

And how pretty is her bouquet of hanging Amaranthus and Lisianthus by Holly Flora?!  I love that she added a locket containing a photo of herself and her father on one side and her dog that passed away on the other.

Their rings are seriously so fab. Majorly love the gold + emerald combination.

From Rose: My inspiration for the day was the flowers of the South. My husband is Jewish and I’m Irish. I wanted to mix both of our heritages. The green of the green Amaranth flower represented my Celtic side. The Chuppah was all amaranth and roses, placed horizontally. I wanted to create a magical bubble of beauty and love for Davey and me and for our loved ones.

Davey holding my hands when we were exchanging vows. I was very nervous and in that moment, he grounded me. And the lovely words of our Rabbi, Johanna Hershenson.

Probably one of the prettiest chuppahs I’ve ever seen…be sure to check back in a bit to see more from Rose + Davey’s gorgeous reception!
