The Autumn Edit: Step-by-Step Makeup

Afternoon chicas! This morning you’ve been inspired by our Autumnal bridal looks, so this afternoon I’m showing you how to re-create that gorgeous golden glow for you and your bridesmaids.

My make up applications always start with preparing the skin with moisturiser and primer suited to the bride’s skin type.  I then actually start work on eyes first whilst skincare and primer work their magic. I start by filling in my models brows using a brow powder and gel to groom, shape and define.

An eyeshadow primer was used on the lids and then a soft cream eyeshadow was applied all over the lid from lash line to brow bone creating a clean base to introduce colour. I followed this with a pale gold eyeshadow on the lower lid and slightly past her crease. The next step was to create a contour on the lid and give a lift to my models eyes, who naturally has a small lower lid in proportion to her upper lid. I applied a soft gray eyeshadow slightly higher up on the lid above the models natural crease giving the illusion of a more open lower lid space by keeping that light and open with the pale gold shadow which pops more once the contour colour is applied. A gel liner is then used very thinly on the lash line to intensify the eyes only and to keep the lid simple yet give a polished make up look. A coat of mascara followed by a fluttery set of lashes completed the eyes the pale gold shadow behind the lashes will still keep the eyes open and stop this look from looking heavy.

By doing eyes first I can remove any drop down shadow that may have fallen during eyeshadow application and then start applying a foundation that will be kept clean and flawless now that eyes have already been done. Once foundation is applied I then apply a little concealer just on those areas that need a little extra coverage. I then set the base with a translucent loose powder that will give more durability to the make up but also allow bronzer a and blushers to go on With this look the addition of a soft bronzer applied to the contours of the face and the cheekbones compliment the gold in the eye make up. I then used a soft coral tone cream blush to keep the skin looking fresh and added a little illuminator to highlight just above the cheekbones giving a glow to the skin. A nude coloured lip pencil followed by a peachy nude lipstick colour with a dab of clear lip gloss completed the look

The make up for our bridesmaid’s look was kept a little less glowy and more of a matte classic look keeping the focus on the Bride. The brows were defined and a soft mink grey colour was washed over the lower lid followed by mascara and false lashes to add a little drama. A coral pink blush was used and a rose pink lipstick added to give enough contrast against the colour of the bridesmaids dress.
