Eclectic Yellow 1920s DIY London Wedding

Eclectic Yellow 1920s DIY London Wedding

via

WWW readers Julie and Ben had one super stylish London wedding.

They wanted a 1920s glamorous feel to their day with a touch of British eclecticism.  They held their ceremony at Stoke Newington Town Hall, followed by a reception at The Roost, which looked too cool.

Julie wore a 1920s feel Vionnet dress she found on Net-A-Porter while Ben wore a grey suit by Paul Smith. I so love all of the quirky and fun yellow details they injected throughout the day. Utterly gorgeous.

Thanks so much to Corrado Chiozzi for sharing his amazing photography with us today.

The Proposal… On my 40th birthday in cornwall.

The Vision for the Day… British eclecticism tinged with 1920 glam.

The Planning Process…  About 6 months although not in earnest until about 3 months before. Lots of lovely wedding blogs, pinterest, and the knot magazine.

Budget… About 15K.

The Venue… Stoke Newington Town Hall for the ceremony. The Roost for the reception.

The Dress + Accessories… Dress: Vionnet. Shoes: Comptoir des Cotonniers. Earrings: Alexis Bittar.

Finding the Dress… On Net-a-porter.com! It was the only one I tried ordered and it fit!

Groom’s Attire… Groom’s suit and shoes: Paul Smith. Toddler’s suit: Next.

The Readings + Music… Who know’s if the moon’s a balloon – e.e. Cummings.

Beautiful Bridesmaids… Only a man of honour.

The Flowers… Flowers: Nursery Fresh

The Cake… Easy Gourmet

Your Photographer… Corrado Chiozzi

The Details + Decor… 1920s DIY and on etsy. Tables favours like mini whiskey bottles and floral arrangements in vintage decanters tied the 1920s theme together.

The Honeymoon… Next year in Hawaii.

Memorable Moments… The first dance! We forgot some steps but had a blast dancing to roxie music!

Advice for Other Couples… Plan in advance; then relax…the day will be great!
