Beautiful Classic Italy Wedding

Happy Saturday lovelies :-)

Today we are in one of the most romantic destinations, Italy. Cristina and Giovanni married in their hometown in the Prosecco hills.

They had the dreamiest day, holding their reception in a private villa. There were pretty flowers, chic stationery and atmospheric lighting all planned by My Italian Wedding Planner. Not to mention some super stylish attire.

Thanks so much to Kokkino Photo for sharing their lovely photographs with us today.

From Cristina; “Giovanni and I currently live in Dublin, but both of us are from the Veneto region, Italy. It is a special place for us, with lots of wonderful memories, so it seemed like the perfect choice for our wedding. The stunning hills surrounding our hometown are well know for the production of the sparkling Prosecco and the church where we got married has beautiful ancient frescos on the walls and the most amazing view overlooking the rolling countryside! It was truly magical and we felt so privileged and lucky to get married there.

We had our wedding reception under the fresco of an old private villa which looked like a fairytale location – a stunning Italian style garden which I and Giovanni fell in love with at first sight! As the venue was hidden in the middle of the picturesque Venetian hills I wanted a country and elegant style wedding with a relaxed atmosphere and touches of fun for our guests. We dressed the porch with hanging lights to give the place a warm atmosphere in the evening and filled biscuits jars with orange and yellow ranunculous and aromatic herbs. At the entrance of the porch we also positioned an old pallet that we used as tableau and which we decorated with ribbons and pompoms. We used old cranes to create a photo shot area and brought a polaroid camera for our guest book – we have some great photos with people’s comments which is a lovely keep-sake.

Sylvie at My Italian Wedding Planner helped me with the choice and making of the flower arrangements – I wanted something in the warm colours of orange. She went for orange ranuncolous for the tables and white peonies for the bouquet which she wrapped with an old lace bought in a fea market in France. I also had baskets of sage and rosemary at the entrance of the church which gave another nice countryside touch to the place.

The wedding ceremony was just perfect, very emotional and special for us. I remember walking in with my dad and being overwhelmed with love and excitement! Saying our vows in the church was also so special. We had a jazz band from Dublin playing during the drinks reception and whilst we ate. They were fabulous and made our guests dancing all night long!”
