An Eco-Friendly, DIY Wedding in Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains

Eco-friendly options were a must for Gwylan and Michael’s  intimate lakeside wedding. All of the furniture and tableware was from local garage sales and flea markets, and the whole family helped out with landscaping and building the outdoor structure for the reception. The couple made sure to incorporate DIY elements into their green celebration, like the ceramic mug favours made by Gwylan’s father, and tons of other recycled decorations. “Our friends saved their baby food jars for months so we could use them for tea light candles,” Gwylan shares with a smile. “My favourite part of the day was going for a canoe ride with Michael in my wedding gown,” Gwylan reminisces. “It was wonderful to have a moment together on the calm water after the ceremony,” she concludes.
