Fewer things are as lovely and romantic as lace, which made it the perfect inspiration for this wedding from photographer Sylvie Gil and planner Rebecca Reategui ...

With the bride's veil and Anna Maier dress as a starting point, the lace motif carried through to the stationery, linens, cake; even the lanterns around the dance floor echoed the delicate textile. Add a palette of pale blue, cream, and whispers of pink, and you have the makings of an unforgettably beautiful wedding.

Dauphine Press created the blue and white stationery suite, incorporating lace details from the envelope liner to the program cover.

Says the bride: "It was very important to my husband that the ceremony have a religious element, so our planners helped transform the stone ruins into a church-like setting with wooden pews and a beautiful altar backdrop. It all came together so wonderfully and was truly magical."

In addition to the lace motif, Dan's love of philosophy inspired some of the wedding day details. Says Ashley: "Instead of numbering the tables, we named each one after a great philosopher, and placed a book by each author on the dinner tables to indicate the table name. Guests found their seats by taking small bud vases marked with both their name and the philosopher's name, arranged on a bookshelf. Once they found their seats, they placed the vases on the table which added to the centerpieces."

Guests enjoyed two flavors of wedding cake from Sweet on Cake: Strawberry Basil and Red Velvet. A friend of the groom created The Dashley, a signature cocktail made with Lillet Blanc and Wild Turkey 101, garnished with spearmint and a maraschino cherry.

Why did you choose this location for your wedding? We wanted a romantic and unique scene in wine country for our wedding. We were drawn to sites having stone ruins that we could include in the ceremony, allowing us to combine a really beautiful natural setting with an element of man-made history. To us this signified a mix of the eternal and the transient, which is precisely what the act of marriage signified for us as well. When we saw Annadel for the first time, we immediately knew that it was the perfect place.

What inspired you when you were planning your wedding? I am from California and wanted the whole day to have a light, carefree atmosphere despite the seriousness of the occasion. Our color schemes, food and drink selections, and seating arrangements around the dance floor all helped achieved this.

What was your favorite moment or part of the day? The whole wedding was one big feeling of awe. I loved walking into the ceremony laughing and whispering with my dad, and I was surprised how quickly I went from giggling to tearing up when I saw all of guests and my soon-to-be husband. My favorite part, though, was right after the ceremony when my husband and I had a few minutes alone to sit together and take everything in, right before our first dance.

Did you include any traditions in your wedding? We did try to include all of the typical wedding traditions. I wore a borrowed ring, a vintage ring, a blue garter and something new. We did the traditional dances and speeches. I had meant to throw the bouquet but became so wrapped up in the event that I didn't remember until days later that I had forgotten! We were driven off as the music was coming to an end, beginning our honeymoon right away.

What was the best advice you received as a bride? One helpful piece of advice which I received was to spend a lot of time on wedding blogs and websites before planning details of my own weddings. It really helped us define the style of wedding we wanted.

What advice do you have for other brides? My advice would be to not spend too much time looking at different wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses. There are so many options out there and it can be overwhelming. Once you find what fits your vision I would stop looking.
