I've been meaning to give crafting bunting a go for a while now. It's a wedding trend that seems set to stay and so many of you are DIYing your own bunting too. Here's how I got on...

- Sewing machine or needle & thread

- Iron

- Template

- Fabric

- Binding Tape

- Scissors

- Pins

Pin your template to your fabric and cut to shape.

Sew together 2 triangles, leaving one edge un sewed.

Flip your triangle inside out. Iron your triangle. Iron your binding strip in half length ways.

Sew your binding strip in place.

And there you have your chic bunting perfect to decorate any event.

I found cutting all my triangles in one go, followed by a batch of ironing and finally sewing worked most efficiently. I also love the bold look of plain fabric, which you could really mix up with fun colours or textures too. Or even different shapes.

Why not get together with family or friends and get a little production line going? You will have reams of bunting in no time.
