A Picturesque DIY Wedding with lots of Bunting at The Star Inn - Karl & Charmaine

via

Good afternoon everyone! Today's feature is brought to you by Carly Beven Photography and takes place in a beautiful setting in North Yorkshire.

The couple du jour, Charmaine and Karl, were married earlier this year in an intimate civil wedding ceremony followed by a reception at The Star Inn. Charmaine says "...we chose The Star as it's situated in a picturesque village on the edge of the moors. Our wedding took place in the Wheelhouse which is a gorgeous barn style building with low beams and wonky walls. It's such a busy little place, with something to look at and see in every nook and cranny."

The bride and groom opted for a simple colour palette and enlisted the help of MOB to make bunting for the outside. The venue had so many elements of interest that they didn't really need to do much more to dress the space. Many of the additional decorative elements were created by the couple to add that extra personal touch. This included confetti boxes with lace with gingham ribbon filled with lavender and delphinium leaves made by Charmaine.

Charmaine wore an adorable tea length wedding dress that she found for just £200 (OMG) and paired it with some totally awesome Jimmy Choo something blues which were a gift from the groom. Karl got measured for a Saville Row tailored suit in French navy material and a white tailored shirt from Michelsberg in Leeds. He chose a red white & blue striped tie and brown leather Poste shoes to finish off his rather dapper look.

Flowers for the day were designed by a local florist and included wooden trough centrepieces filled with clove flower, stocks, freesia, thistles, hydrangea in shades of blues, creams and whites. The groomsmen wore thistle buttonholes and the ladies were treated to carnations and gypsophila. Last but not least, the wedding cake came all the way from Hummingbird Bakery in London and was topped with some mini bunting that said 'just married.' Adorable!

Advice from the bride:
Sometimes you can't help that little things may not go to plan & it's out of your control, I'm so happy that I had people around me that took charge of the situation and turned things around for me. My advice would be to keep an open mind & go with the flow, enjoy every moment as it just flies by!

Any Regrets:
No regrets, we had just what we wanted, great food with our closest friends and family I couldn't of wished for more.

Best decision made:
The best decision we made was our venue, as its one of our favourite places to visit. We now have such fond memories of our perfect day each time we visit The Star at Harome.

Thanks very much to Charmaine and Karl for sharing their beautiful day and to Carly Beven Photography for capturing it in such a beautiful way! Charmaine says "...I knew of Carly Bevan Photography as I was following her blog, she had a certain something about her style of photography that I knew would suit us & our special day! We're over the moon with the images she captured for us, they take us right back to the moment." Amaze.
