A Castle Wedding in Milan

A Castle Wedding in Milan

When Trevor and Michela entered the busy pizzeria in London that was hosting a dinner party for over twenty of their mutual friends, they didn't realise that their lives were going to change for good. Michela, who was in London for work, brought a friend along with her for company and ended up translating a conversation between her and American born, Trevor. Safe to say, things went than great and Michela ended up staying in the UK for another six months. Fast forward four years to the beautiful island of Salina, and Trevor proposes to an unsuspecting Michela overlooking the most stunning of views at sunset. Even though the couple were living in the UK, they decided that they would host their wedding near Michela's home city as it would make for a perfect European destination location for family and friends flying in from the USA, so a castle wedding in Milan it was.

Being from Milan, Michela wanted to get married close to home but found herself spoilt for choice (it is Italy after all!) but the moment they found Castello di Marne, they knew it was the perfect wedding venue. Planning from afar wasn't without it's challenges though, especially that they didn't hire the services of a planner. They did everything themselves, even folding origami menus in their spare time, not that they would say it was hard work, more fun! Their wedding ceremony was exceptionally special being celebrated in both Italian and English, one of the couples favourite memories of their wedding day.

Michela's love for polka dots and flowers was the inspiration behind their fun and beautiful wedding theme. A friend of the couple designed a logo for their wedding that was made up of a polka dot bride and groom. They even requested that their guests arrived dressed in polka dots or flowers!

Most couples will tell you that the best decision they made was choosing the right photographer for them and for Michela and Trevor, it was no different. Their photographer was the amazingly talented Gianluca Adovasio and I'm sure you will agree, he did a remarkable job!
