WWW readers Cara and Greg planned their wedding from Canada. They fell for Crear, Scotland online and they never looked back.

They chose to marry in May 2013 and wanted a relaxed informal feel to their day. Cara is an artist and so used her creativity to decorate their day perfectly. With a chic and simple colour palette, they used brown craft paper for their details, a fun blackboard for their table plan and touches of white with pink peonies.

Cara wore a romantic gown with her hair swept to the side while the boys wore kilts and knitted ties.

Thanks so very much to the amazing Lisa Devine for sharing her imagery with us today.

The Venue... Crear, by Kilberry, Argyll. I had come across the venue before I was even engaged and fell in love with it after seeing pictures of it on the internet. After Greg proposed we were home for Christmas and made an appointment to see it. It turned out to be perfect for both of us. The setting is beautiful! Rolling landscapes down to the sea, views of Jura and the venue itself was exactly what we were looking for. It's an old cottage which has so much character. There is a wonderful studio conversion which is perfect for dinner and dancing. You actually rent the cottage for a whole weekend, Friday to Monday, and it has enough accommodation for 12 with a smaller cottage sleeping 6 about 5 minutes down the road. It was like having our wedding in our home! We were able to have a dinner with close family and the wedding party on the Friday evening and invite our guests back on the Sunday for a big BBQ to continue the celebrations. Crear works with several brilliant vendors including caterers and a florist. This helped so much with our planning and Joe our wedding planner who also works for Crear was amazing and really kept us organised.

Groom's Attire... Greg wore the kilt that he was given for his 18 th birthday. Slaters Menswear made his tweed Argyle jacket and waistcoat (we found their service amazing and they sorted out all the rental kilts for us as well). We found the beautiful hand knitted yellow ties that he and his groomsmen wore from a vendor on etsy.

The Readings + Music... We decided to have a religious ceremony and as I was raised Catholic we chose the local Roman Catholic Church to get married. Greg was raised within the Church of Scotland so we asked his old minister, who is also a close family friend of his parent's, to participate in the ceremony as well. The marriage of the two religions was perfect for our day and we couldn't have been happier with how it went. Greg's sister Eildon very kindly agreed to do 2 readings during our ceremony and we had Anita, a friend who we'd met in Toronto sing for us. My Uncle Paul and 2 cousins Mark and Tony played guitar and sang throughout the ceremony, I knew for a long time that I would want them to perform in some way during the ceremony and I'm so glad they all agreed. Mark played a musical version of the Rolling Stones 'She's a rainbow' on the piano as my entrance song. A bit risky for a religious ceremony but it sounded beautiful and was perfect for us.

The Cake... Crear cakes made our lemon drizzle cake with lemon butter icing. It was delicious, there was none left after the day!

Your Photographer... The amazing Lisa Devine! Lisa was brilliant from the moment I first contacted her. Her style of photography was exactly what we were looking for. We were always able to get in contact with her if we had any questions and after we met with her for the first time we knew we had made the right choice. On the day, she was fantastic at making everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. We loved the interesting shots she took and I loved that she also carried a Polaroid camera and took some quirky shots on that. The shots she sent us are incredible and just perfect for remembering the day.

The Details + Decor... I love brown craft paper and made almost everything using that. I had found these 3D craft numbers online and used them for the table numbers, but we also wanted to add a more personal touch so we decided to name each table working around a Canadian theme. We found postcards that represented things about Canada that we loved and displayed them in vintage style picture frames on the table. I made the bunting with some very handy helpers and hand printed the letters 'G & C' on several of them. I also sourced small craft paper favour boxes which I hand printed and my dad filled them with his incredible home-made fudge. The place names were made of luggage tags and we designed the menus and order of service and my Uncle printed them for us. Lastly I decided to create two silhouette portraits of Greg and myself using black card and put them on display.

Memorable Moments... Walking down the aisle and seeing all the faces of my friends and family and spending some time with Greg surrounded by beautiful scenery while Lisa took our pictures after the church. Also all of the speeches were fantastic and very entertaining!
