Wedding Friends embrace new faces, and on the blog today we are welcoming a brand new edition to the family. Today we are sharing the wedding of Pierre and Rouxle, a very special couple who created a memorable celebration. We met as first years at the University of Pretoria. After 2064 eventful days we got engaged on the 26th of May 2013, a weekend away to Botswana with our closest friends. He surprised me by going down on one knee just as the sun was setting over the breath-taking Botswana landscape. My ring is so special and such a blessing for our marriage to come as he designed a triple-braided cord engagement ring symbolizing God, husband and wife.

The cohesion between two families prior to the wedding is truly something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives. The sights and sounds in the Mooketsi valley as the valley lit up for the week in preparation. The carefully selected al fresco style menu prepared by my mother in law. Childhood memories were relived as the chosen venue was the avo and mango farm I grew up on.

Our expectations of the wedding day were simple: a never-ending feast, an informal celebration and a special day to remember where two people declared their love in front of witnesses. The day was exactly that!

Henk, our pastor misjudged the distance to the farm, which resulted in him suiting up in an avo orchard, a few more guest followed his example soon after.
