Bracken took Julien completely by surprise when he popped the question during what was supposed to be a PR shoot to promote his career as a professional hockey player. "He told me that we needed to film an entire days' events to capture 'A Day in the Life of Bracken Kearns' for PR purposes," explains Julien. "I didn't think much of it as we continued to film our daily activities - morning coffee, a trip to the dog park and an evening walk to tire out our pooch. While on the walk, Bracken had me chase our dog, Franc, around and when I did so, he managed to throw a note on the ground. He told me I had dropped something, and as he continued to film me reading it, he got down on one knee and proposed. I was in complete shock and did not see it coming at all! I love that I will always have such a perfect day captured on video - including my embarrassing and elated reaction to his big proposal!

For their celebration the couple opted for a romantic outdoor party at UBC farm. Gorgeous gold and pink details filled the couple's reception tent but Julien admits that her favourite wedding accent was her sweet table featuring macarons and a stunning ombre cupcake tower.
