Shabby Chic and Glam Wedding

Gorgeous weddings all have to start somewhere, but just how do you make all of those wishes come to life? Our next bride confesses she had plenty of ideas but was stumped when it came down to pulling off all of her dreams. Here is a little advice for those of you that could use a little help getting started. Assuming you have a Pinterest board (or eleven) devoted to what it is you would love to have at your wedding, we suggest putting together a guest list. With an idea of how many will be there choosing your venue, nailing down a budget, and deciding on food will all be much easier!

Don't forget to stop by the full gallery to see even more of Shelby and Chad's shabby chic and glam wedding. There are plenty more details for you to put on your wedding wish list all captured beautifully by Elisabeth Carol Photography!

How fun is that? Chambray shirts for the bridal party instead of robes for getting wedding ready (so running around to help if need be) is easily! Everyone loves a comfy jean shirt!

Thank your groomsmen for all they have done for you with the gift of liquid courage. Or at least a fun way to carry that courage around with them, in a personalized flask. Liquid Courage has tons of designs and options for engraving and personalizing your groomsmen gifts.

From the Bride:
I went to several different shops in search for the perfect dress. Again, I had a vision but when I started trying dresses on, I quickly realized that white was not my color! Bridal Boutique was such a dream and they were great help. I didn't even look twice at the dress they grabbed but when I tried it on I knew that was the one. The sash around my dress was actually a headband from Anthropologie, one of the sales associates thought that would complete the dress.

I think my favorite memory of the whole experience was saying my vows with Chad and then having communion afterwards. It was such a special time for us both to let it all set in and for me to cry a lot. I think I underestimated how hard it was going to be for me to build the perfect wedding. I knew exactly what I liked, but sometimes it was hard to take those ideas and bring them all together. My mom and her friend Jennifer, were true rockstars with all of the planning and the follow through. My mom searched vintage stores for months for the perfect table decorations for all our flowers and succulents. I wanted that to be the focus, with any kind of vase or tin they could find. I think my favorite part of the planning was to see all the decorations come together to create the vision I had from the beginning. I wish after my first look and all of the pictures I had gone upstairs to see what the ceremony and reception looked like. My bridesmaids and I got ready downstairs at the venue in a little suite, so we were right there when everyone was setting up. However, when I got up to the ceremony I was obviously paying attention to my groom. Then when we came back up for the reception everyone was sitting down and the dessert table was basically gone! Luckily, Elisabeth took great pictures so I could see what it looked like, but I wish I had gone up there!
