North Carolina Private Residence Country Wedding Among The Weeping Willows

When your family's private farm is a secret garden filled with caterpillars, ponds, weeping willows & gobs upon gobs of gorgeous little flowers everywhere, why on earth would you get married anywhere else right!? North Carolina wedding photographer Connection Photography had the good fortune of being on hand for Sarah & Jesse Yandle's working farm wedding filled with magical places & special little animals at every turn. Combine their creative shooting style with touches like tin baskets filled with apples, old school milking canisters, canoes brimming with beverages & a country craving wedding party and you have the makings for the first real wedding of the season that is going to have you praying summer gets here like yesterday!

Jesse and I grew up less than five miles from each other, but we didn?t meet until July 3 rd, 2008. A friend invited me to hang out and celebrate the 4 th of July and I was excited about meeting new people. We ended up going to Jesse?s house, and that was the first time he charmed me with his sense of humor. Before I left that night, I asked him if he was ever going to ask for my phone number. His reply was reaching for his cell phone and saying, ?I?m ready.? Two weeks after we met, he told me that he was going to marry me one day. Of course I didn?t believe him, but after we said our vows and we were walking into our wedding reception he looked down at me and said, ?I told you so.? We have a precious little girl, Ava, who just turned three years old in December. She is the perfect combination of us both, with the sweetest smile, overwhelming compassion, sassy attitude and is hard headed just like her parents. I never dreamed I would be so blessed with the amazing husband and daughter God has given me. We give him every ounce of credit.

We were married on Jesse?s grandfather?s farm. We chose the family farm because it?s where Jesse and his family have lived his whole life, and we currently live there ourselves. His aunt and uncle were also married on the farm twelve years ago. It is a working cattle farm and we worked very hard to make it wedding ready keeping the traditional farm aspect.

A Little Help From Their Friends ~ Jesse?s sister Savannah Yandle, was responsible for a large portion of the decorations. She used two old doors from one of the barns on the farm and hung our engagement photos that helped personalize our reception. Chase Harpe, from Harpe?s Fencing, did the lighting using string lights that made the night feel warm and welcoming. We had several friends and family members loan us Christmas lights, drop cords, and our church graciously allowed us to use their tables and chairs. We would also like to give a special thanks to Kim McIlwaine for hours of help planning and countless prayers for us and our family. We couldn?t have done without the help that we received from everyone.

Bride's Favorite Moment: "Looking back, my favorite moment was getting to share our special day with everyone who is special to us. The farm is in our hometown so it made it easier for everyone to attend than had it been out of town. We are also very proud of how our wedding turned out. Everyone told us how beautiful everything was, and that was a huge compliment because we spent many weeks and hours of hard work getting things prepared for the wedding."
