BBQ Wedding

BBQ Wedding

When it rains it pours, but the down pour is usually fallowed by a rainbow. This a great metaphor for all of you making plans for your wedding. The chaos leading up to your big day will eventually pass and that beautiful moment when you say 'I do' will be all that sweeter for it. Brielle and Cody's pink and navy bbq wedding had real as well as metaphorical rain but the day was all the more memorable for it!

From the Bride:
Right about wedding time the rain came and stayed. Held at Riverview Manor, in Hurt VA; we both wanted to get married outside at a beautiful location. Riverview Manor provided us with a gorgeously secluded and homey space, and beautiful rolling hills and mountain views out in the distance. I met my bridesmaids early in the day at Anthony and Co. to get our hair done, all of us wearing our monogrammed oxford shirts, then we were off to Riverview Manor to get wedding ready.

Right around wedding time the cold rolled in and the rain was inevitable. The wedding could have been moved under the tent but the bride insisted that the wedding take place outside even in the rain. The ceremony was filled with personal touches. It rained the entire wedding, but soon after the ceremony the sun came out for a while before the rain started again. The ceremony included bluegrass music, 10 reasons I love you, a Dr. Suess quote, unity cookies, and a solo sung by one of the bride's college soccer teammates.

After the ceremony there were cocktails and fried green tomatoes, bacon wrapped pickled watermelon rind, the bride and groom's favorite 4 cheeses (bleu, hoop, gouda, and brie), there was also fresh fruit and veggies. Guests helped themselves to beer, wine, lemonade, tea, water, and the 2 signature cocktails "Brielle's blueberry buzz"- a blue margarita and "Cody's cooler" a pink lemonade wine cocktail both served in small mason jars with blue and pink striped straws. While guests enjoyed cocktail hour a bluegrass band, The James River Cutups, played blue grass music.

The bride and groom had been dating for almost 7 years leading up to the wedding and had been together since high school. They decided to have a wedding that showed off their personalities. The wedding was a bit southern, a bit preppy, and a bit different, all of which describe who the bride and groom are. Their reasons why they love each other showed this- including that they loved each others' weirdness.

Nothing brings family together like a BBQ! We can't imagine one single guest being upset over hush puppies, potato salad, cole slaw, and a variety of bbq meats. All this deliciousness was made by Carter Brothers BBQ . Catering to High Point, NC for any type of event you can possibly imagine.
