2014 Wedding Cake Trends #2 The Nake Cake | Bridal Musings

Grab yourself a cuppa, and a fork (for imaginary cake tasting purposes) because it's time to talk wedding cake trends with our resident cake expert, Jaclyn of Ivory & Rose Cake Company.

If you missed any of Jaclyn's previous posts on wedding cake trends you can find them all here.

Last time she shared some of the most gorgeous metallic wedding cakes you ever did see. Today, she's giving us the lowdown on the risqué new trend sweeping the wedding world - naked cakes.

Naked Wedding Cakes

Usually, we don't condone the practice of actually removing icing from cakes (it's the best bit!) but when they look as fabulous as these fruit and floral topped beauties, we can make an exception.

Take it away, Jaclyn...

"The naked cake has such a rustic charm. It can be decorated with fresh flowers and fruit that make it a perfect wedding cake for a summer wedding. I do get couples worried that it will dry out during the day, but if you choose your wedding cake designer well they will know all the tricks of the trade to completely avoid that happening. Not a dry crumb in sight."
