Jared + Tenielle's Rock 'n Roll Wedding

Jared + Tenielle's Rock 'n Roll Wedding

For all those Rock 'n Roll brides out there, this one is just for you. Today we are featuring the wedding of Jared and Tenielle. This couple had something different in mind when they planned their wedding, not the ordinary or the obvious, instead they rocked their wedding. The day was captured by the Open Image team at the Thorn Birds Centre just south of Johannesburg. The decor was done by ITC Decor and together this team created and captured the day perfectly. Have a look!

I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met or on how the proposal went down.

Jared: I met T where else, but in a pub, the pub that belongs to her parents. I had always seen her at the pub but never worked up the courage to introduce myself. To tell you the truth I found her quite intimidating not to mention seriously sexy. It was much later that I finally plucked up the nerve to ask her out in November of 2008 and I haven't looked back since. My proposal was totally not the way that I had planned it. I had the ring made up by a friend of mine and took delivery of it in May 2010. Many times I pulled it out of the safe ready to propose only to quickly put it back second guessing the method in which I had planned, I can't tell you how many times this happened. The final plan was to propose December on our holiday down at the coast, at sunset on the beach!

Then came Saturday morning of the 13th of November. I woke up knowing that today was the day, not sure why, it just felt so right! I was a bundle of nerves the whole day. I went down to the bottle store and bought a bottle of champagne along with a few groceries. I attempted to hide the bottle in the back of the fridge covering it the best I could with the groceries...it didn't work. T saw the bottle and said to me why the bottle of champagne? I replied that I just felt like champagne today, woke up with the taste. At the time it was the first screening of Master Chef Australia, a great cook herself, T would watch the omnibus on a Saturday afternoon.

I couldn't wait any longer, while she was watching in the lounge I went to the bedroom and took the ring out of the safe, placed it in my pocket and went through to the lounge. I knelt down in front of her and hugged her around the waist, nerves again getting the better of me. I looked up at her and said Babe, I love you. She replied quickly with I love you too Baby and carried on watching Master Chef. I again looked up at her and said Baby, I love you!

She said not now Cooks, you know I wait the whole week to watch this. I pulled the box from my pocket, opened it, looked her in the eyes... she then blurted out, "What are you doing!"

Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.

Tenielle: I must say my dress was one of my most memorable experiences - when I put that dress on for the first time I knew it was meant for me.

My Fair Wedding | Describe an event that you feel was unique or even funny.

Jared: I think our wedding, decor and table settings were unique and absolutely awesome! Nothing was more unique on the day though than my beautiful wife.

Don't Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.

Our wedding cake was hilariously small for the amount of guests we had! By the time we saw it, it was just too late to change. But Jared came to the rescue and made a joke of it and then it still landed up disappearing at the end of the night.

No More Wedding Woes | Share your wedding advice for future brides.

Most important, have fun! You're marrying the love of your life and nothing is as important as that. During your reception, make sure to take a step back and soak it all in. Everyone in that room is there for you and to celebrate because they love you. It will be a very surreal day and no matter what you do, it will go by fast. But it will undoubtedly be the best day of your life!
