Bye bye office. Hello nursery.

Did you enjoy the long bank holiday weekend?

I kept busy while G was at work, with A having swimming, football and a birthday party to attend. His social diary is more exciting than mine hehe! I did get treated to lunch at my parents though and I managed to get some bits done at home. I think I am nesting already; washing windows, hemming curtains and cooking.

After talking about kitchens with you a couple of weeks ago, we took the plunge and ordered our units ready to fit ourselves. I cannot wait to get the kitchen finished now. I also have been getting some finishing touches for A's room, so I can hopefully share with you the end result finally :-)

Once those interior projects are sorted, next on the list is the nursery. I am slightly worried about loosing my office space and setting up camp in the kitchen, BUT I cannot steal baby's bedroom hehe. We are reusing A's nursery furniture. It wouldn't be my choice now, but we are on a budget, it works and is coordinated, so it would be silly not to. Here are some images from A's nursery before he arrived (excuse the image quality, this was pre owning my DSLR).

It's a small space. In it we will have a wardrobe, changer drawer unit, cot and inbuilt cupboard to squeeze in. The nursing chair is definitely not going to fit, I think it will end up in our room for the time being. Some serious space planning is on the agenda.

Aww I loved A's nursery, but 5 years on it's not really our style now. I have been crocheting a granny square blanket for over a year, and it's now set to be for baby (if I get a move on). So the room theme will come from this. I want the look to be more relaxed and less matchy matchy but bright, colourful, fun and less blue ;-)

I love the idea of injecting a little circus into the room, I just adore this Cath Kidston wallpaper. But I want to keep the walls white as they are ready to go, so am looking into wall stickers or fabric instead. I also love the idea of a woodland and toadstools theme and have again been looking at cute artwork and objects to decorate with. I really need to either find a pair of curtains to buy, or give making another pair a go with some fabric I find. Then I think the room will flow from there. I am sure we have the plain white cot bumper in the loft and many plain white sheets, so I don't think we will go too mad buying everything over. The essential purchase will be a new mattress for the cot. I just hope the New England style furniture will fit with the room's style. Obviously baby is not going to mind whatever we do hehe.

Does anyone have any fabric or inexpensive cute print shop recommendations to check out? I need to get organised :-)

Happy Sunday lovelies XOXO Lou
