And that's exactly what we did with this makeup tutorial - took a bold, super-feminine look and softened it - with the help of beauty guru Elyse Reneau, of course. Here's how to recreate the look:

Get the Look: Blurred Lines

1. To achieve matte skin, apply primer. Even out skin with foundation and concealer. Contour cheeks with sculpting powder. Brush the powder across cheekbones, upper forehead, jawline, and sides of nose. Apply blush to the apples of cheeks in a soft pink shade like .

2. Sweep a light cream eye shadow across your lids as a base. Apply a medium-brown shadow; blend into the crease. We used .

3. Sweep across the lash line and out toward temples to create a cat eye. Smudge carefully with an angled brush. Sweep mascara across the top and bottom lashes.

4. Apply lip liner to the center of the lips, in the center of the pout for the lower lip and below the cupid's bow for the top lip. Then, use a lip brush to blend the lip color out to the rest of the lip for an understated pink glow. For this we chose .
