And The Bride Wore The Trousers | Bridal Musings

You guys know how much we love wedding dresses.

Romantic, feminine, dramatic and pretty, they have the power to make you look like a princess, feel like a goddess, and set the tone for your entire wedding.

But they're not for everyone.

Whether you're a tomboy bride looking for something more you, a stylish dame planning to forge your own path down the aisle, or a same sex bride wanting to look a little different from your other half on your big day, there are lots of wedding dress alternatives that will let you look yourself, while still feeling glamorous, gorgeous, and special.

Enter jump suits, pant suits, and even play suits, the new wedding wardrobe.

From real brides to runways we take a look at some of the most stylish ways to suit up for your wedding.

The Pant Suits

My mam wore a cream flared pant suit, with a white brimmed hat to marry my Dad in 1976. And she looked awesome.

Now, when I was a dress-obsessed little girl, I was horrified that my mother had missed out on her "Big White Dress Moment," but now I realise she was one kick-ass bride.

Wearing trousers to your wedding doesn't mean you'll look butch or blocky, it could mean a chic suit, a sexy two-piece, or a dramatic style statement all of your own.

The Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are so freaking cool. Not only are they total statement pieces, but they can create a silhouette that's just as romantic, seductive, dramatic and feminine as a dress.

Perfect for chic city weddings and elopements, or as unique bridesmaid attire, you can play around with pant widths, necklines and textures, just like a dress, or you can keep it simple and amp up the accessories.

Play Suit

Now we didn't think rompers were appropriate wedding day attire, then we saw some of these little beauties below, and we have to say, we're converted.

Cute, playful, and pretty, these make the perfect attire for tearing it up on the dancefloor, as well as pretty daytime outfits for backyard nuptials, beach weddings, or casual city affairs.

If you're looking for something low-key, stylish and fun, playsuits might be the perfect wedding dress alternative.
