The Happiest Time Of Year

The Happiest Time Of Year

Yes it's the beginning of July and yes this is a truly beautiful Christmas wedding. The sun may be shining outside (is it, is it?!) but before you can say Ho Ho Ho it will be the festive season. And we know there are a whole bunch of you stylish winter brides out there in search of some suitable inspiration.

Did you check out socialite Olivia Palermo's beautiful blue Manolo Blahnik wedding shoes on our Facebook page recently? Well have we got news for you folks, bride Bec HAD THEM FIRST, oh yes she did, so fashion forward. Paired with her lace Sassi Holford gown and Hollywood siren-esque pout her look is just perfection.

The details of this grand affair have been written by the groom, Chris is sharing his thoughts and his supplier recommendations for your Friday enjoyment.

Chris The Groom: The most important thing we wanted to do was bring our two families and friends together and give them happy memories which they would keep forever. There are many many wedding venues you could chose from but I would be amazed if they could match the attention to detail that Goodwood gave us, they made us feel both comfortable and relaxed on the day and in the lead up to our wedding. We picked Goodwood House because it holds some very happy memories so this was not just any old venue, it was a beautiful venue which meant something to us.

Both Bec and I have always loved Christmas and the happiness that time of year can bring so we could not think of a better time of year to have our wedding. This time of year also gave us the opportunity to use lots of lighting at our wedding with the Christmas tree lights, candles and lanterns. We were very fortunate with the weather on the day and as we all know you can't guarantee sunshine even in the middle of summer! This day would have never of ran so smoothly without the help of Goodwood events team and each and every one of the suppliers.

We chose to embrace Christmas as much as possible, so used lots of warm winter colours. We really didn't like the idea of being tided down to one particular "colour theme". We tried to pick both music and readings that suited us and what we enjoy in life, we are not really serious people so we tried to keep everything as light hearted as possible.

Bec spotted Ann-Kathrin-Koch's amazing photos on Rock My Wedding and from the moment we had our first Skype chat together we both knew we wanted Ann to be our photographer on the day. Ann gave us exactly what we wanted with very little guidance from us. Ann made us feel very relaxed and happy on the day and managed to capture every moment every bride and groom would want to see. After the wedding Ann presented us with the most beautiful wedding photos that we will keep safe forever.

We cannot recommend enough, having a professionally done wedding video of your day and we would recommend Newlywed Films extremely highly. They captured the day in perfect detail, they were professional and ensured we stayed relaxed and the day ran smoothly for us, they simply slipped into the background. The time and effort which must have gone into the editing of the video helped them produce an amazing happy and emotional account of the day which we look forward to sharing and enjoying with our future generations.
