Summer Wedding in Austria | Fly Away Bride

When I think of Austria, I think of snow, skiing and the beautiful architecture that can be enjoyed in Vienna. Today's real wedding however is a particular treat because it's an summer wedding in Austria. Our wedding planner bride, Vera and her lovely husband Georg pulled out all the stops when it came to their special day and opted for a hand made, shabby chic wedding theme with lots of beautiful details and styling, including one incredibly yummy looking sweet table! The bridesmaids donned pretty pastel dresses, perfect for summer and soft, delicate flowers graced every table. Of course, none of us would be able to appreciate the beauty that is Vera and Georg's wedding without the fab images taken by their pro photographers, Claudia and Ingo from Ladies & Lord .

It was a perfect hot summer's day. I always wanted to get married outdoors and luckily the weather gods had been kind to us, so after our open air ceremony we headed to the oyster bar and champagne fountain which were a highlight for us. We love good food and good company and sharing that with all our friends and family meant so much. Actually so many things were highlights that I don't know where to start but how about setting free a bunch of white turtledoves? This was actually a wedding present for us and we were really touched. We didn't expect it and it was a perfect surprise when they fluttered out. One thing I do remember clearly is our first dance. We danced to Dean Martin's "Memories are Made of This" and afterwards we surprised our guests with a little show number we choreographed with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. I still get so emotional thinking about it and our first anniversary comes around soon which will bring back so many memories. Advice to all brides out there: savour every minute of the day, take in all the little things, the smiles and the tears, enjoy the moments with your family and friends- it will be over in a blink."

From the bride: "My day started in the beautiful honeymoon suite of the Palais Hotel Erzherzog Johann where I got ready with my bridesmaids. Make up and hair for 6 women takes a lot of time and we had so much fun chatting, giggling, and watching each other getting ready. I really felt like a princess in a fairy tale. My dress was a gift from my mom as were the diamond studs she gave me that morning. In the meantime my soon to be hubby was having fun with his groomsmen and their Rat Pack Photo Shoot with Ingo, one half of our photography team. From the hotel suite to the castle the girls and I drove in two vintage cars. Up until then I kept my cool but once the car entered the castle grounds I felt so nervous and excited. My brother walked me down the aisle and honestly I don't really remember that much of it after that. I just saw that Georg had tears in his eyes- this was the most emotional and touching moment of the day for me and the only thing I remember clearly. It was all like in a dream and only in my photographs can I see that I was smiling all the time.
