Dreamy Bohemian Scottish Elopement Shoot: Sarah + Shaun

Dreamy Bohemian Scottish Elopement Shoot: Sarah + Shaun

True, we may be biased, but we really think that GWS couples know how to rock a photoshoot with style. And this adorable duo, Sarah + Shaun, and their pre-wedding elopement shoot at the foot of Ben Nevis in Scotland, backs up our theory big time. With a traditional wedding ceremony planned for this Fall back home in Singapore, Sarah + Shaun decided to do something special in the country where they met + fell in love. Knowing it wasn't feasible to fly their 400 guests to Scotland, a dreamy photoshoot, filled with simple yet sweet bohemian details, was the perfect plan to ensure they'd get the wedding photographs they really wanted.

Scotland holds many fond memories for us as we first met there in 2007 when we studied medicine at the University of Glasgow. The Scottish Highlands is nature at its rawest, untainted beauty. We wanted to capture some moments together in a place that would remind us of love that is carefree, bold and endearing through all weathers, even the heaviest storms. We were inspired by the styled pre-wedding film photography shoots we had read about all over Wedding Sparrow! They were refreshing compared to the usual studio photoshoots quite popular in our part of the world and we thought, "what could be a better place than Scotland!". We wanted to capture two main elements of the Scottish Highlands- elegant castles and the rustic wilderness and found them to be perfectly amalgamated at Inverlochy Castle Hotel at Fort William. Located near the foot of Ben Nevis, we had stunning views of the tallest peak in Scotland and the castle also had its own private wood and lake! We felt so blessed to be able to shoot at this romantic venue.

Big thanks to Louise and Teo of Taylor & Porter for the gorgeous photos and congratulations to Sarah + Shaun!

The Bloomery did an incredible job crafting gorgeous arrangements in a pretty palette that was just right for summer!

Sarah + Shaun changed into something a little more comfortable for the 2nd part of the shoot. And (as we like to say) you just can't go wrong with a Claire Pettibone gown! :)

We love these shots of Sarah + Shaun in that garland-clad row boat! Too sweet!
