You may recognise the lovely Sarah and Nic. We featured their Editorial-esque engagement shoot back in May, so we're thrilled to share their wedding with you this morning. And it's extra special because the images come from the wonderful Claudia Rose Carter.

I love it when a couple gets married at the Bride's family home and that's exactly what Sarah and Nic decided to do. I can imagine there's something very comforting about getting ready in the home you grew up in and celebrating your marriage in your old back-garden, surrounded by the people you love.

I'm also a huge fan of simple, elegant details - for me all you need to make something look beautiful is flowers and candlelight and that's exactly what Sarah chose to style her big day with.

To entertain the adorable little ones at this wedding Sarah and Nic provided them with an Eye-Spy list, a pencil topped with a golden animal (see here for a tutorial) and a camera. If only we got to see the awesome shots captured by the little monkeys.

Sarah the Bride:While I have lovingly pored over the fabulous weddings on RMW over the past year, I am going to admit that I found planning my own wedding a bit of a challenge! I always envisaged an intimate wedding with close friends and family...cut to a wedding for 130 in a marquee at my family home and I was way out of my comfort zone!

Planning a marquee wedding from scratch is hard work - coordinating numerous suppliers, from portaloos to chandeliers can be a real test (even for a complete perfectionist!) but it was absolutely worth it. To be able to get married at home was a really special experience and I hope we created something very unique and personal to Nic and I and our families.

If I could offer any advice for anyone else taking on a lot of the planning yourselves, it would be to hire a wedding co-ordinator if your budget allows. Sama from Utterly Wow helped us on the day itself and took over liaising with suppliers a few weeks before - this was invaluable and really allowed my Mum and I to take a step back on the day, knowing everything was in safe hands. Even the stray dog that turned up to join in the party!

In all honesty I found finding a dress that suited me and felt 'right' quite difficult...I had no set ideas and very high expectations! I knew I didn't want anything too fussy or traditional but I also wanted to feel special and to wow my husband. Having tried a David Fielden dress on elsewhere, I decided to visit the designer's studio where I happened upon the 'Wallis Simpson' dress by accident - having settled on another style I tried this one for the colour and (convinced it wouldn't fit) emerged from the fitting room with a cautious smile. I felt elegant and special, but most importantly like myself.

I decided to go for a cathedral length blush veil for the church ceremony in a nod to tradition and I absolutely loved wearing it! For some sparkle I had a bespoke vintage head band made by Gillian Million who has a wonderful eye for detail and managed to interpret my very confused brief to perfection!

My dashing husband had a slate grey morning suit made to measure from Dress 2 Kill and the Groomsmen and Ushers hired matching suits from the same place. Ties proved very tricky to choose, but we settled on three different styles from Reiss complementing the nude and blush colour theme.

For the marquee we wanted to create an air of vintage glamour and chose to use a pared back palette of nude and blush pinks with lots of candlelight throughout the tent, chandeliers, and oodles of flowers!

My friend Emma was our florist - she has such style and creativity and is quite simply an absolute legend! We also incorporated some subtle nods to Switzerland, where we got engaged, through the table names and by serving Sussex sparkling wine where Nic hails from.

My amazing mum made our wedding cake - chocolate and Guinness, red velvet and carrot and ginger, all with cream cheese frosting. I wanted to make this a centrepiece so used a blush sequin tablecloth on a high circular table dotted with flowers.

Our photographer was the wonderful Claudia Rose Carter. This was Claudia's first wedding, seven weeks after having her first baby, and it must have been hard to leave her gorgeous son at home, but she dedicated herself totally to the day...come (a lot) of rain or shine! We opted not to have too many formal posed photographs and Claudia captured some wonderful moments that are so natural and special. Having had a pre wedding shoot and having kept in regular contact Claudia feels like a friend and she made everyone feel at ease throughout the day.

The most important advice I can give is to stick to what's true to you, try to embrace the day and the trials and tribulations that go alongside it and to try and take it all in on the day itself - it honestly went so quickly! Oh and if you want to see all of your guests on the dancefloor, book All Night Long who were simply brilliant.
