Fabric and Paper Wedding Flowers

Whether you are plagued with allergies or a serious case of DIY fever, fabric and paper flowers are a fun and creative addition to your wedding's decor. Paper poms and folded floral fans are some of the most popular paper decor details. The above backdrop is even more interesting because of how they used coordinating prints with their solids. Below, these fan style flowers are super easy to make using tissue paper and they add a dose of playful whimsy.

But paper and fabric flowers also don't have to be all about the bright colors. Check out how cool they can be in creamy neutrals with this row of small centerpieces (below, left) and powerful pom hanging installation (below, right).

For those that prefer a more refined look to their paper flowers, you would never guess where these gorgeous pink and white blooms come from! Believe it or not, they are made from coffee filters. The delicate blooms almost look like the real thing!

You don't have to necessarily hang garland. This tissue paper garland (above) would be so pretty decorating a welcome or cake table. Weave them in and out throughout the other items on each table to fill up the space in a budget-friendly way. Or create a pseudo table runner out of paper flowers and a Kraft paper background (below, left). Although many of these decor ideas are more appropriate for DIY or shabby chic themes, this table runner would really warm up an urban or industrial event.

Perhaps you want to go totally wacky and fun like the above oversized paper flower. Or maybe you prefer vintage and sweet, with flowers created out of pastel fabrics, lace, and brooches. Personally, I love the texture of this seemingly "tattered" white bouquet. The different edges and cuts of the fabric gives it a frilly, but weathered look.

Don't forget to go all crafty with the boys. This DIY-cute ribbon flower boutonniere is secured with tiny gold beads. Below, for a more rustic wedding, keep it simple and eco-friendly with this button and felt option. And bonus, you can use it as a barrette or brooch after the wedding.
