Rainy Big Sur Wedding

Rainy Big Sur Wedding

via

This cute couple tied the knot in a beautiful patch in Big Sur, with the Santa Lucia mountains rising from the Pacific Ocean behind them. The beautiful scenery combined with their lovely day equaled smiles all around - such smiles that didn't falter even when a few downpours paid a visit.

The day was elegant with a twist of vintage in the details, particularly apparent in the stacked vintage crate and chest cake table that is simply too cute to pass up! Smile, stay awhile, and take a look through the full gallery here, captured by the talented Rad + In Love, to get a glimpse of even more wonders from this rainy Big Sur wedding.

Words from The Vendors

Hannah and Nick came up from LA to be wed in the stunning beauty that is Big Sur. Some of our favorite highlights (aside from the natural beauty of the couple and the environment!) was all the white umbrellas peeking out during the ceremony, the bride's dress, the family style cheese boards on the table, and the groom (a SUPER talented musician) serenading his bride with a song he wrote before the rest of the band led the night into a great dance party, topped off with a bonfire and Smores. So fun!

Words from The bride

Nick is a professional musician, so when it came to choosing a band we had an amazing community of musicians to choose from. We eventually enlisted our friend, and Nick's songwriting partner Aaron McLendon to be the Musical Director and assemble the band. Our friends played live music all day- for the ceremony, cocktails (barely pausing for a torrential downpour!), dinner, and of course, the dancing. Nick's band, The Endangered also played a few songs, including one that Nick wrote for me- He surprised me by playing it for the first time at the wedding. The main piece of advice I give brides planning their big day, is don't be afraid to ask for help. Decide which details are the most important to you, and what you're comfortable leaving to your fiance, planner, parents, bridal party, etc. Two weeks before the wedding, we saw a 10% chance of rain in the forecast, and needed to make a quick decision about a tent. Overwhelmed, I told our parents that we needed help, and that we trusted whatever decision they made. In the end, I was overwhelmed with gratitude by the way my friends and family rose to the occasion to help pull this day off. It was joyus, warm, and full of love. It was pretty magical. I can honestly say I wouldn't change a thing.
