What a fun and loving wedding on the blog today! Louis & Esti's Nutcracker Wedding was a memorable one, one of love, friendship and pure joy! The vintage theme Esti went for was a perfect match for the venue, The Nutcracker outside of Parys in the Free State. The day was captured by Judith Doubell Photography and she captured the way in a very fun and spontaneous way, the images will speak for itself. Enjoy Louis and Esti's Nutcracker wedding with us on this lovely spring Monday morning!

I Propose | Elaborate on how the two of you met.

When I think about how I met my wife Esti the words "Stay open, who knows? Lightning could strike" comes to mind. And on a rainy night in February 2012 lightning did strike. I went to a friends a party and it was one of those parties where I was sitting at home thinking to myself the sooner I go, the sooner I can leave. At around 21h00 I decide enough is enough and I started heading home when in walks this girl and I realise, this party just got a whole lot more interesting. So I turned around and I'm really glad I did.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down.

We drove down to Grahamstown for a long weekend and my good friend Judith Doubell organized the most romantic photo treasure hunt in and around town. The last was this beautiful house where she laid out a smorgasbord of awesomeness for the two of us to enjoy. There was a box of the most divine macaroons where she hid the ring. So I took the box and handed it to Esti who did not realise what was happening until I went down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. Judith was luckily hiding in the bushes to get it all
on record! Esti didn't have a clue!

I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day.

The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day.

For me some of the best moments were seeing all the friends and family together having a big party. Seeing all the effort my parents and Esti's put into our day to make it special and memorable for us. But there was this one moment during the reception where Esti and myslef were just sitting next to each other and I realized, looking at her, this is happiness. And of course when she came down the isle, makes a man feel kind of good about the choices you have made.

For Esti I'm sure it was to have her grandmother there with us on the day. We are truly blessed with that and she made it very special for her

Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides.

A celebration of love and friendship shared not just between the two of us but all our friends and family and a lot of pretty good wine!

From the grooms perspective I can just say trust him. There is a reason you are getting married to this guy and you can really trust him to look after his groomsmen and himself. Also, throw the mother in law a bone, you have no idea how much she appreciates helping out. Even if it is with the mundane things you think will be a waste of time. She really appreciates it!
