On the morning of her wedding, she needed to breathe. She needed the sea. She thought she might sail away on it, disappear into the distant horizon lit by the sunrise bringing her joy. So she stole away for a quiet moment, a simple girl in a simple gown with a simple need - just to be. So she took deep breaths as she strolled barefoot where the waves met the sand, and she left blossoms behind for the sea to have as she gathered her wedding bouquet as she went. The reverent morning birthed a breeze to play with the wisps of her hair, to tangle the sun up with the golden strands. She would be married today, a wife; she would finally be one with the one her heart loved.

From Kelly Sauer: "This collaboration that began as an opportunity to photograph some of Kelly Lenard's beautiful work with florals blossomed into one of the most enchanting bridal stories we'd ever encountered. From the moment we discovered the simple silk lining on the gown we intended to photograph, we knew that something special was going to happen with this shoot. We took it to the sea, and we paired larkspur and gold in the model's hair and barefoot sandals with the foraged, windblown florals at the shore to create a simple, inspired morning moment that only needed sunrise and a beautiful girl to carry it off. We shot through the cold of the morning (40 degrees in Charleston, S.C. in March never happens!) and when the photos came back, we never would have believed it was as cold as it was."
