Monica and Maurizio's Romantic Italian Lake Wedding

Written by: louise

They arrived in aboat. A rowing boat, you guys!!!

If this isn't the most impossibly romantic wedding you've ever seen then my days as a wedding blogger are truly numbered. The perfect palette of pretty spring pastels, a ceremony on the shores of the most beautiful Italian lake, a macaramé lace and tulle dress and possibly the prettiest every bouquet I've ever set eyes on (and I've seen a few). This is probably the most loved up couple I've ever had the joy to feature on b.loved! The beautiful photography is by Les Amis Photo.

Did I mention they arrived in a boat?

We met the first time more than 15 years ago, since Maurizio was (and still is!) the best friend of my first boyfriend! After not seeing each other for a few years, we spent a holiday in Greece as friends, and we come back as a couple! Maurizio asked me to be his wife after a long business trip in Hong Kong: when he come back he bring a nice ring for me as a surprise and I immediately said YES! I wore a white dress in macramé lace and tulle from Nicole Sposa in Milan, with Rene' Caovilla shoes. My hair was styled in a smooth braid with a white peony by Paoloa Bianchera, with light, natural make up. My groom more an Ermenegildo Zegna suit with Alberto Guardiani shoes. The groomsmen wore the same dark suits and the bridesmaids contrasted in coral dresses. We celebrated the ceremony in a very nice garden in by a lake not far from Milan. We selected it since we love nature and since the place was very peaceful and relaxing. We found inspiration mainly on blogs and Pinterest and chose most of our suppliers at a lovely, small wedding fair in Milan. We wanted our wedding to look soft and elegant, with an antique touch mixed with some modern colours and stunning location. The green gardens and emerald-blue lake at Cascina Boscaccio were the perfect backdrop to our simple white wedding with details in pale pastel. Our florist, Sofia of Il Profumo ei Fiori, did a wonderful job with pastel coloured flowers. Everything was magic and soft. Our cake was very special: a mountain of Italian "cannoncini", warm and delicious! Our photographers, Erica and Elena of Les Amis Photo, did a wonderful job! They were perfectly integrated with our guests, like we'd been friends forever. We felt totally relaxed and natural, and are totally in love with our photos!
