From comedian David Coulier to actor Ryan Reynolds, Alanis Morissette has had her share of high profile breakups in the past. But something was different, Morissette says, the moment she met musician Mario Treadway, better known as the rapper Souleye. The couple quietly married in 2010 and welcomed their son, Ever, later that year.

On Morissette's upcoming interview with Oprah on "Super Soul Sunday," she explains how she immediately knew Souleye was her match.

"I would date people, and there would be something about me that would hit a brick wall with whomever I was sitting across from," she says in the above video. "And with Souleye, when I first met him, I could see that there was this limitlessness to where we could go."

Morisette goes on to explain how Souleye challenged her in ways she wasn't used to. "I was even a little scared thinking, 'Oh, God, I'm going to be going into territories that are outside of my jurisdiction and outside of my comfort zone if I hang out with this person. You remind me of a composite of my whole family and this will get really interesting and really challenging and really beautiful,'" she says.
