Jet-Setter Styled Shoot

Written by: louise

Just how cool would it be to jet off somewhere exotic for a romantic elopement? Well, if it looked anything like this obscenely glamorous affair we could be very tempted indeed! Taking the idea of a high-flying, jet-setting couple, photographer Shhivka Chauan decided to create a shoot to inspire a stylish elopement wedding with more than a hint of sparkle. With a striking black, gold and yellow colour palette this look is a real statement. Add in the backdrop of the Hiller Aviation Museum, and the feathered skirt of the brides dress and there's more than a touch of modern Gatsby glamour!

I wanted to create the glitz and glamour of a grander wedding, in a cosy intimate setting. Because the couple was established as a busy jet-setter couple, I wanted to shoot at an airplane hangar, but without the obvious travel-inspired accents. The idea was to keep the soiree elegant, gorgeous and classic. I picked black, yellow and gold, colours that are a perfect combination for the elements of glamour and elegance. The bridal gown represents a modern look - fresh, edgy but still classic, with bold lips and a breathtaking gown with gorgeous details. Accessories were minimal, with sapphire studs for earrings, and ornate bracelet for that pop of glamour.. For the groom, simple Tux with a bow-tie. For the overall styling of the table and accents, we wanted it to be unique and glamorous so we started with a base of gold sequinned table cloth, which brought the whole look together perfectly. The cutlery, napkins, plates, glasses/tumbler/champagne flutes were chosen for their simple style and hints of gold and black. The yellow and silver bouquet has the perfect mix of flowers to create a lush romantic yet glamorous look. The garden roses, dusty miller and astilbe help create the soft romantic feel of the bouquet. The calla lilies, air plants and crespidia are strong and unique elements that give this bouquet a glamorous feel. This bouquet is a perfect compliment for a elegant and glamorous wedding.

It just makes you want to jet off somewhere impossibly glam, doesn't it?
