Beautiful Classical Wedding Inspiration

Beautiful Classical Wedding Inspiration

via

We love vintage wedding inspiration.

But over the last fews years, the trend has been all about the 1920s (hello Gatsby-style nuptials!) and 1950s ( retro tea-dresses, we love you!).

But today we're going to go back, way back. This isn't vintage, this isn't even antique, today's wedding inspiration comes all the way from the classics.

We're talking Renaissance statuesque wedding gowns, a Neo-Gothic setting (in Shakespeare's neighbourhood!), blooms straight from the Romantic Era, and accessories that look like they could be from Ancient Greece, Downton Abbey and every time in between.

This shoot is the work of digital fine art photographer, Alethiea, aka Xander & Thea who worked with a team of talented vendors to create an inspiration shoot that took its cue from the eras she is passionate about.

We'll let the lovely Alethiea tell you more about the concept...

It was inspired by my love of Pre-Raphaelite art works such as those of Singer Sargent and Romanticist, Lawrence Alma-Tadema, which in turn stems from my deep love of the high renaissance and antiquities. They all played a part in inspiring this romantic nymph shoot. It was my first bridal editorial, so took quite a few months to plan, I had very grandiose plans for the shoot but decided to pair it down, keep it simple and just focus on a select number of beautiful pieces, namely from Giling and White bridal boutique in East Midlands and Klaire Van Elton accessories. Bettie Lottie and The Temple Hair Spa worked on make-up and hair, whilst Nicola from Eve Lily dressed the grounds of Ettington Park Hotel near Stratford, with beautiful tableware from Helené Millot. Helené has an impressively stunning collection of antiques and the punch bowl that Eve Lily filled with flowers is firmly on my coveted items list. The overall aim of the shoot was to create a set of images that were delicate and romantic, that spoke of fragility and femininity.

Isn't it all so beautiful, the dresses and accessories are particularly stunning, don't you think?

Thanks so much to Xander & Thea and all the wonderful vendors involved for taking us back in time with this wonderful shoot.
