My son attends to a school that gives notebooks to every student so that every child had the same looking notebook. The notebooks are similar to these Mini Notebooks, but they aren't checked or lined, they are plain to let the kids be creative. I like the idea but the only problem with the same looking notebooks is that they are often mistaken. The caption on the cover says who the owner is, anyway the kids don't care, and there were so many situations when my son carried some other person's notebook home.

I found a brilliant idea to make a more personalized version of the notebook for my son. Gabrielle of 'Design Mom' is an expert on ingenious projects, so I copied her technique to Emboss The Notebooks. She used Cheerios recycled boxes to make the letters; I worked with a regular cardboard and asked my son to write the letters. Now his notebooks spoil the convention but they can be easily recognized by the cover.

The possibilities are endless; you can transfer any pictures you want to your notebook covers. Feel inspired to decorate and send us the photos of your work!
