It's been far too long since we shared a sunshiny yellow Spring wedding with you but never fear Cheryl and Matt are here to save the day with their awesomely bright wedding this morning.

And it is AWESOME. Completely and utterly take-your-breath-away awesome. I for one LOVE it...can you tell?

Captured by the uber talented Mister Phill, this 'I Do' has inspiration by the bucketload for you. And before you disappear off to start your pinning marathon, I really need to share some of the best things about this wedding if that's even possible.

Can we all just take a minute to appreciate Cheryl's totally bargainous dress that she scored from eBay for the grand total of £39. She looks like a veritable real life Swan Lake prima ballerina flanked by beautiful girls in yellow and an exquisite Tulip and Daffodil bouquet (one of my favourites of 2014 I'll have you know!)

And then there's all the paper pretty (such brilliant branding) and the chocolate Easter inspired wedding cake (just genius) and the Musical Bingo. Yes ACTUAL musical bingo. I think I just died and went to heaven.

Cheryl The Bride: Wearing a dress, especially a glamorous white one is something that always scared me a little, not for what it symbolises, but because I'm a tomboy at heart. I did look in bridal shop windows and even 'phoned a couple' but ended up finding the one I liked on Ebay. (It was £39 and by Mikael Aghal) It fitted perfectly and I didn't need to have any alterations done at all! Guess that means it was meant to be.

The shoes were from Aldo. I wasn't sure what would go but silver seemed appropriate! I hadn't bought specific wedding jewelry and was going to wear a necklace Matthew bought me a long time ago, however on the morning of the wedding I received a gift. He'd bought me a Lulu Guinness gold pencil necklace. It was a complete surprise, a shock and of course I wore it. It even included a little bit of blue!

Matt's suit was DKNY and his shirt was from Thomas Pink. He picked the ties for the dads and Will (the best man - who incidentally delivered the most emotional and hilarious best man speech!!) Matt's shoes were by Peter Werth from Schuh.

Matt proposed just up the coast at Burton Bradstock. Our mutual criteria for a wedding venue was that it should be in Dorset and as close to the sea as possible. Having both grown up in Dorset, Church Ope Cove just down the cliff from Pennsylvania Castle has always been a favourite spot of ours, even before we got together! We knew the venue just from seeing it up on the cliff and were lucky enough to be invited to a good friend's wedding and instantly thought that it was the perfect venue, I guess you could say we stole it from them! They seemed pretty forgiving though which was a relief and they seemed to relish the chance to be back there for our big day - thankfully! Thanks Dan and Sammi.

Being Easter weekend, we used the occasion to its full advantage. The gardens are full of Daffodils and yellow is one of my favourite colours. The mix of yellows at that time of year is awesome so we just embraced it! Everyone likes chocolate eggs, they're fun! I saw a tutorial for tassle bunting on Pinterest, made a few and decided I would make enough for all of Portland (!) I like their contrast to the backdrop of the Castle and the coastline. Thank goodness the weather was as nice as it was. The groomsmen did an incredible job of hanging them! Nice one boys!

Again, we embraced the time of year using Daffodils, Narcissus and a few Tulips. These were lovingly put together by Andrew and Melinda at Little Strode Flowers. They also made buttonholes, and some hair decorations too.

I designed and made all the printed bits and pieces. This was all a little bit last minute. Having the (dis)advantage of being a designer meant at least that I could undertake these bits, but also it meant having to squeeze them in somewhere. Anyway, they seemed to turn out ok. The door hangers in particular went down a treat, as did the hand painted pebbles that were absolutely positively definitely in no way taken from a nearby beach.

The bridesmaid dresses came from BHLDN. I thought the sunflower yellow colour suited them perfectly and looked fab alongside the mini bridesmaids spotty dresses which came from Vertbaudet. Matt's Aunt Cathy very kindly made matching hairbands for the little bridesmaids using leftover fabric from their dresses (they had to be taken up at the hem a tiny amount).

One of Matt's longest standing friends from school, Russ, read the poem 'After the Winter' by Claude Mckay. Being Spring, it also seemed appropriate. The poem is about nature but also about settling, happiness and contentment. Kat (Matt's sister) and Dom (her partner) played two songs during the signing of the register - 'Dream a little dream' and 'Just the two of us'. It was perfect!

Jess Indeedy provided an extravaganza of Musical Bingo with astonishing prizes! My mum won herself a Sandwich Toaster, something I wasn't aware they even made these days! Matt managed to bag himself an inflatable seagull. Jess and 'the love of her life' DJ Helix Dj'ed long into the night and even managed to set off the fire alarms with 3 non-stop minutes of smoke machine during R Kelly's Bump 'n' Grind! The dance floor was packed for the majority of the night (though evacuated efficiently and very quickly). It couldn't have been more fun!

Our friends at Top Button Productions ran a slow-mo video booth for us! It was awesome fun. Julia (bridesmaid and Matt's sister) and Ruben (her partner) kindly brought back an interesting selection of headwear and attire all the way from Mexico which proved for some somewhat bizarre scenarios in the drawing room!

Margot at Thyme After Time (a longstanding family friend) designed the perfect menu for us, keeping with the Easter theme. We wanted to keep with the perfect balance of formal and informal and so decided on sharing platters for each table, a good way to get people interacting too! All locally sourced and produced - Dorset born, Dorset fed! We even had delicious hot cross buns in the evening! Matt's godmother, Frances, made the most delicious three tiered chocolate cake decorated with.... yup... Mini Eggs! Woo!

Jes, one of my best friends and a successful illustrator, topped the cake with 2 little Hinterfolk creations and Matt's even sported a sparkly Octopus cape (his favourite sea beasty).

We saw photos from a friend's wedding and they were the most perfect I had seen in that they captured the characters' emotions and atmosphere perfectly. Since seeing those we had recommended Mister Phill - to some other friends of ours who were tying the knot (Paul and Kayleieh [scheduled to appear on RMW 23rd September - Phill]). Then Matt proposed. There was no question in our minds who we would love most of all to document our day!

My brother Patrick (with the big yellow tie) did a wonderful job at rounding up our wedding part for the formal photos. The bridesmaids were Julia and Kat (Matt's sisters) Poppy (my niece) and Maddy (Matt's goddaughter). The best man was Will who did the best speech ever. The witnesses were my oldest friend from home, Charlie and Matt's friend, Scot. Kat and Jo at The Penn did an incredible job at helping the day run smoothly.
