Rudy & Erin's Avianto Wedding - Wedding Friends

via

Today we are sharing the work of the talented fashion and wedding photographer, Daniel West. Avianto is probably one of SA's most popular wedding venues, and that being said, for good reason. A venue that never disappoints and still provides new surprises every time. Well Rudy and Erin has an interesting story to tell. Hope you will enjoy it!

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

Our story starts many years ago, we first met each other in nursery school and then in grade 3 Rudy asked me out under the big oak tree in primary school. Our paths then crossed again after high school where we just knew we were meant to be together forever.

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down?

Rudy proposed on a ship on the 12.12.12 at 12:12 (how he got this right I still don't know) this date was meant to be the last day of the worlds existence and the reason it was chosen is that if Rudy had one last wish on earth it would be to marry me.

Bride & Prejudice | Express some memorable experiences you had during the planning.

The most memorable experience during our planning was that although most men dont take much interest in the planning of the wedding Rudy did most of the organising. I would tell him what I wanted and he kept making all these dreams a reality. Nothing was too much for him, he even got my flower (blue orchid) that is not found in South Africa ordered. Another great experience was before ordering the cake we got to taste all the cake flavors and fed each other as though it was our wedding day

My Fair Wedding | Describe an event that you feel was unique or even funny.

On the 4 month mark before our big day, feeling as though we had everything under control Rudy phoned me with so much excitement in his voice saying that he could not wait for me to be his wife. He then proceeded to ask me when will the invitations be delivered..... my heart sank. We had planned a massive wedding and I had forgotten about invitations. All I could think of is that we would have this amazing wedding with no guests to see it. All was sorted by the weekend as we found a great company that would make our invites.

Don't Tell The Bride | Reveal something that happened behind the scenes.

Things often go wrong, but with Rudy and I being perfectionists we didn't leave anything to chance. We had check lists and files to ensure everything was in order. On the day of our
wedding I was in such a good mood, that is until my wedding planner gave me my bouquet, she walked in with such a smile I truly thought she was playing a prank on me as the bouquet she was holding was nothing like the one I had ordered. So I looked at her and laughed and asked her where my real bouquet was, her face now had such a shocked expression on it and that's when we both realised that neither of us were joking. My bridesmaids looked at me as though I was meant to be in a state of panic, but were surprised at how calm I was. All was sorted in the end and I got the bouquet I ordered. The wedding planner and I still laughed about this the next day.
