This January and February, the Lovesick Expo is once again embarking on a nationwide tour, alongside our professional besties at Offbeat Bride. Our goal has always been to bring the most creative couples and wedding vendors together under one roof to show the best, most creative wedding talent in each city - beyond the Google searches and reality TV shows.

When we first dreamed up this idea, the most important thing to us was that we could find a host venue that also celebrated the independent spirit. We wanted a space that shared our ideals revolving around music, art, and love. We wanted a space that felt a little bit punk rock, a little chill, and most importantly, doubled as a kick-ass wedding venue.

Since you may be on the venue hunt, and we've already done the legwork by scouring the country, we thought we'd put together this little profile of eight of the best venues we've found across the nation!

Four words: Williamsburg. Brooklyn. Concert. Venue. You just got hipster cred by reading that, let alone getting married there!

Now the names of yours and your soon-to-betroth can share a marquee with the likes of Dr. Dog, They Might Be Giants, TV on the Radio, and Murder by Death. While the weeknights are owned by sweaty crowds reveling in free-spirited concert debauchery, the Music Hall of Williamsburg transforms into a gritty-chic New York through-and-through banquet hall for up to 150 of your friends and family. It features two bars, a huge stage with house lighting, and amazing sound. You'll have so much fun that at the end of the evening, you'll want to go back and trash your hotel room with Guns 'N' Roses-esque enthusiasm! And if you need more room, the owners at Bowery Events also run multiple event spaces in the city, and even North Jersey.

World Café Live has been the Philly home of the Lovesick Expo since our first show in 2010. This space may sound familiar to all you public radio nerds out there as this eclectic concert venue shares a space with WXPN radio who broadcasts the syndicated NPR show of the same name. World Cafe Live has been dedicated to attracting and inspiring live musicians in Philly for many years.

The three-tiered music hall was designed to optimize the live performance experience, from sight lines, lighting and acoustics to green rooms. There are full kitchens and bars on both levels, bar crew, and a professional wait staff. The entire facility is wheelchair accessible, 100% smoke-free, and wired for sound and video with a state-of-the-art projection system with a 14' drop-down screen on the main stage. The music hall can easily accommodate 300 seated, and expands to accommodate 650 standing. I mean, if you are going to look like a rock star on your wedding day, why not feel like a rock star, too?

Lovesick Expo is all about promoting the eco-friendly. Our studio is even located in New Jersey's first LEED Silver-certified green home. So when we heard about Boston's first LEED Platinum-certified building... that happened to support community arts education for under-resourced youth... decorated partially out of recycled police cars... that serves as an amazing 5,000 square-foot wedding venue... well, we freaked out a little.

Artists for Humanity's EpiCenter touts the architectural details such as the vintage Crown Victoria car windshields that enclose the mezzanine. The 18-foot ceiling enhances the versatile ambiance of the gallery, and provides a great opportunity for cool décor or offbeat wedding performance art - as demonstrated by our friends at the Boston Circus Guild. A floor to ceiling "garage-style" glass door opens to a cozy courtyard that offers an additional 1,200 square feet. Not to mention, the ample on-site parking. Even the bathrooms are amazing urban art pieces, but you'll have to see that for yourself.

Like the art that adorns the walls, the EpiCenter at Artists for Humanity starts out as a cool blank canvas waiting for your creative brain, and your talented hired professionals, to impress up to 400 of your family and friends.

If you are a debutante looking for a late-nineteenth century plantation vibe for your wedding, we're sorry, but we have found the exact opposite of that for our expo! Ambient Plus Studio feels like the mash-up of a professional California studio and an urban New York loft. Designed by a photographer, the space features 10,000 square-feet of hardwood flooring, a massive cyc wall, and natural lighting unseen in most wedding venues, all waiting for your creative brain to customize it to meet your needs. And you get all this for a rental rate that doesn't come close to breaking the bank. As a group of artists themselves, they are all about collaboration and have many connections with preferred caterers, furniture rental companies, and other vendors. Good people helping other good people to cross off tasks on your to-do list. That's what it's all about.

We've heard that Seattle is known for being the birthplace of some of the greatest names in music. Let's see... there's Kenny G, Queensryche, and probably a few more we're forgetting (for the love of god, we hope you know we are kidding). So why not amp up your party and get married in one of Seattle's most famous concert venues?

Showbox SoDo is the most recent addition to the Showbox family, located just south of the downtown business district. The 1800-capacity showroom and lounge features a beautiful exposed brick and wood-beam architecture. The space has been recently remodeled and is ideal for large-scale functions of any kind. The updated production elements, open floor plan, in-house caterer, and abundant nearby parking make the possibilities for events pretty much endless. Their Showbox SoDo Lounge which fits 300 is also available for rental and has its own stage, sound and lighting systems, as well as a full bar and ample seating.

Showbox SoDo has recently featured names like The Pogues, M.I.A., The Hives, and Dropkick Murphys, which is a pretty cool story to tell your guests.

LOVESICK EXPO DATE: Sunday, February 15, 2015

We were Googling the Mile High Club and somehow stumbled upon this amazing wedding venue in one of the coolest, hipstery mountain towns in America. So we thought, what the hell? Let's take Lovesick to Denver! (Okay, that's not entirely how it happened.)

Mile High Station is a special events venue in Downtown Denver. This historic structure once employed hundreds of ironworkers in the form of the Midwest Steel & Ironworks building. Its rich history dates back to 1897, so much of its architectural beauty has been carefully preserved, while undergoing an expansive restoration in a "Denveresque" theme, as described by the venue's owners. One of its new features includes an elevated mezzanine (ideal for a cocktail hour) where magnificent custom-made chandeliers underscore its urban, contemporary style. Mile High Station can accommodate events from 100 to 1,200 guests, with a total seating capacity for up to 550.

We love Los Angeles. And when our friend and planner-extraordinaire Laura at Rebel Belle Weddings told us about this indoor/outdoor, creative workspace with graffiti walls and an urban vibe, well, we fell in love again.

Housed in a historic old factory at 1275 6th Street, The Unique Space is LA's hottest new event rental space. It features a 3,500 square-foot floor plan that can accommodate an intimate dinner or a dance party of over 300. Additionally, their rad 6,000 square-foot parking lot can be converted to an open air lounge or be used for guest parking. With gorgeous exposed brick, high ceilings, wood floors, locally made decor and other one-of-a-kind details, the space has no competition. One of the coolest hidden-gems is a rooftop where you can head up to have a portrait session with the gritty, orange glow of downtown L.A. as your background.

What do you get when you cross a retro airplane hangar, Northern California wine, and 25,000 square-feet of party space? Okay, fine. I'm sure you figured it out, but how awesome is that?! Rock Wall Wine Company, located in Alameda, features three usable spaces for gatherings of a few to a few hundred! Its three featured rental space include a domed reception site, an airplane hangar donned with oak casks and built-in bar, as well as a laid-back tasting room for all of your getting-a-little-tipsy-whilst-pretending-to-be-classy needs!

Rock Wall is just a few minutes from Oakland and a less than 30-minute drive from San Francisco surrounding the venue with a cool cityscape that makes for awesome photos. It has plenty of on-site parking.

A big thanks to Chef Stephanie who introduced us to this amazing space. I guess you could say that wrapping up the expo tour at a winery will make for a nice finish. Get it? Wine? Finish?
