Martin & Stacey's Schalk Burger & Sons Wedding - Wedding Friends

Hayley is once again taking photos, and this time she shot the wedding of Martin and Stacey at Schalk Burger and Son's Estate. A fun wedding with a clean and minimalistic approach. Hayley captured the day beautifully and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Lovebirds | How did you two meet?

We met about 12 years ago (although the exact date is still unclear!) at a well-known bar
in Cape Town one Saturday night, although we only officially called ourselves a couple
about a year after that. I'd like to think it was destiny that finally brought us back together but it was probably just all the woo-ing from Martin!

I said Yes | How did the proposal go down? The Big Day | Tell us the most memorable moment of your wedding day? I Quote | Describe in one sentence your wedding day Forever & Always | Any advice for future brides

Lets just say it was a simple and unique occasion at home - pure Martin style!

I know I should talk about a moment from our beautiful ceremony, but I'm going to be
honest and say it was when we were just about to have our pictures taken and Martin
leaned over and whispered in my ear that almost all of our over-sized white balloons had
blown away in a freak gust of wind. My Martha Stewart decor set-up gone in seconds!
But other than that it has to be my husband's speech: real, funny and totally from the
heart.

I can't give a sentence but definitely have a few words: stressful/relaxed/all-a-blur/
overwhelming/blessed/unexpected/tears/fun/whirlwind.

If your budget allows, book a co-ordinator, even if it's just for on the day. While getting
friends and family involved and doing everything DIY seems fun, it is tiring and not for
everyone, and definitely not always a money saver. If there's one thing you want to do on the day, it's relax and enjoy that time getting ready, so when you are ready to walk down the aisle, you are looking and feeling 200%. That, and don't overdo it on Pinterest!
