Meet the Experts: Sophie Boulet Photography

Delighted to welcome international photographer Sophie Boulet to the blog in the next in our Meet the Experts series, adding her unique sense of chic style and glamour, combined with just a little spontaneity.

Based on the French Riviera, Sophie has been working as an international wedding photographer for over 10 years. However she started as a photo journalist over 20 years ago, before finding her true passion - that of capturing beautiful weddings.

But let's find out more about Sophie from the lady herself. " My passion is wedding photography, and I think that in order to be a fabulous wedding photographer first of all you have to be very flexible and patient. Second of all you have to be discreet as possible to not ruin someones big day, but in the same time to know when to be involved in the day, to ensure you capture the key moments.

When it came to my wedding I was looking for someone not too formal and conventional, a mix a spontaneity, sensibility, beautiful black and white and a great personality!!! i wish to have pictures which looks like me ...not like every one or a trend...! I consider myself extremely fortunate to work with so many wonderful clients, most of them are destination weddings from UK, Switzerland, Asia, US...anywhere really! My clients love to get married in Provence, French Riviera, Paris, Switzerland, Tuscany..

The venues which sing to their hearts include castles, farmhouses, old Medieval villages, luxurious villas and of course beaches... Over my 10 years I have learnt that my clients love to include more traditions into their wedding days, including customs, change of wardrobe, unique speeches and of course the ceremony - I always love capturing a couples unique day. This personalisation leads to beautiful images and it is why I am still so passionate about what I do.

For me there is no favourite part of the wedding day, I like all these different elements. Each wedding is so different and special moments happen throughout the day. Part of my craft is to look out for those emotions, beautiful light, be spontaneous and not forgetting creative. The funniest story I remember is once the best man fell in the pool before the ceremony... and so for the actual wedding he did not have on the same clothes as the others witnesses.

For me the best thing about being a wedding photographer is to share all this concentration of happiness and be trusted with the huge responsibility to photograph the amazing day... Although I am based on the French Riviera, I provide wedding photography throughout France and worldwide. During the wedding day I'm with the couple all day, from the preparation until the last dance, but i'm very flexible. I can also be there to capture the rehearsal dinner or the brunch.
