How to: Supermodel Hair & Makeup

How to: Supermodel Hair & Makeup

via

There are a few universal truths in life, one being that supermodels will always have high cheekbones, dazzling eyes, glowing skin and shampoo-commercial hair -another being that we will always be at least a tad bit envious of them. While it may sometimes seem impossible to achieve these standards of beauty, we aim to make the impossible possible. To make our supermodel dreams a reality, we enlisted the help of hair and makeup guru Tara Shakespeare, who let us in all the best-kept beauty secrets in the industry. So get ready to strut your stuff, because we're pulling out all the stops for this supermodel hair and makeup tutorial!

Glowing Skin

Step 1: Prime face with an illuminating primer, like Lancôme La Base Pro Hydra Glow.

Step 2: Apply a luminous foundation all over face, blending with a beauty sponge. We love Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

Dazzling Eyes

Step 1: Apply an eyelid primer to ensure eye shadow stays in place. We used Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

Step 2: Dust a light gold shadow across eyelid and along the lower lash line, like Maybelline Expert Wear Eye Shadow in Golden Star.

Step 3: Blend a matte brown eye shadow into eye sockets, and blend outwards and along lower lash line. We used Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Solo in 8.

Step 5: Line the upper lashes with a long-wearing liquid liner, like Urban Decay Ink for Eyes in Perversion. Start at the inner corner of the eye, making the line thicker as you get to the outer corners.

Step 6: Add false lashes to upper lash line, then apply a volumizing mascara to top and bottom lashes. Tara used L'Oréal Voluminous Full Definition Mascara in Blackest Black.

Step 7: Fill in eyebrows with a shadow and angled brush, like Anastasia Brow Powder Duo.

Step 8: Contour cheekbones, forehead and jawline with a matte bronzer, like YSL Terre Saharienne Powder in Terre Ocree.

Step 9: Highlight cheekbones, nose and above the brows with a cream highlighter. Tara swears by RMS Living Luminizer for a luminous, healthy glow.

Step 10: Line lips with a pencil that matches your natural lip color, slightly overdrawing them. Apply a nude/pink lipstick - we used Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Native. Finish with a high-shine lip gloss, like Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Pamplemousse.

Va-Va-Voom Hair

Step 1: Apply a volumizing mousse to wet hair, then blow dry. Tara loves Garnier Fructis Sky High Volume Mousse.

Step 2: Use a 1 1/2-inch curling iron to curl half-inch sections of hair. Make sure to curl away from the face so they stand out rather than hide in.

Step 3: Let curls sit for a few minutes, then brush out with fingers.

Step 4: Finish with a volumizing hair spray, like L'Oréal Boost It High Lift Creation Spray.
