A Casual Country Wedding Styled Shoot

A Casual Country Wedding Styled Shoot

Australia is blessed with such gorgeous weather so it makes perfect sense that so many couples want to celebrate their day outdoors. The country side's open spaces and mix of lush green and burnt orange colours are the perfect backdrop for an outdoor rustic themed wedding. Rustic weddings can be styled as grand events as seen in Rin and Maciej's elegant country affair but are just as beautiful when done in a casual way.

Eva from 'Foreva Styled Events' was inspired by the un-tailored beauty of the Australian countryside and provides us with inspiration on how to style a casual country wedding with her shoot. ' We wanted everything to seem very natural so we didn't want to incorporate fixed Arches or wooden chairs for the ceremony' says Eva, so the ceremony area was based around a tree which had a branch perfect for hanging white layered fabric to create an arbour. Simple florals hung in mason jars added a pop of colour to the neutral palette. Fabric covered hay bales were used as seating for the ceremony area, which was in line Eva's objective.

The country styling continued in the reception area and was given a gourmet feel through the use of crates and barrels in place of serving tables for the food and drinks. The team reclaimed a vintage barrel to house the retro glass drink dispenser and matching mason jar cups whereas the macaroons, wine and grapes were placed on crates. A wooden board was used for the two-tiered cake which featured ruffled detailing and was decorated with fresh trimmings. To tie it all together, the stylists used old wine and beer bottles as vases throughout to display the minimally trimmed floral bouquets.

Charming vintage table and chairs from Moments In Vintage were used for the seating area which was decorated with the same floral styling as the reception area. A lush green runner anchored the mismatched bottles together and also tied in with the beautiful colour palette of the outdoor setting. Vintage cutlery and tableware used for the table settings were given a contemporary country touch through the use of bold floral stationery by Urban Weddings which was also used throughout the photo shoot as quirky props for the bride and groom.

The bride and groom were also styled to match their relaxed surroundings. The groom wore a two-piece suit in mismatched shades of blue and a simple white shirt without a necktie to keep the look relaxed. The bride wore a simple lace sheath gown by When Freddy Met Lilly which was the perfect canvas for her long mermaid hair. The romantic look was finished with a beautiful floral crown using the same floral arrangement as her bouquet.
