On the 3rd Day of Christmas FBrides Brought to You...

Good afternoon beautiful people!

Well now! We are getting pretty dang close to Christmas and I'm seriously hoping that y'all are sorted present-wise and now kickin' off with your family festivities and all-round general merriness...

Not quite? Yeah me neither, I've still got a gift to make. Yes, you heard me right, make (glutton for punishment, right here!) and the wrapping is still untouched... Not to mention the fact that there are still numerous puddings to be made before the big 2-5 hits us!

Today, we're looking at one of my all-time favourite present ideas: the gift that keeps on giving, whether that's on a monthly, quarterly or bi-annual basis, a magazine subscription (or buying a back catalogue of issues) is a seriously rad gift!

Here are our favourites!

Oh, yes!

We LOVE Kinfolk. Describing themselves as a 'slow lifestyle magazine' this print is all about the good life: simplifying, building communities and spending our precious time with friends and family.

Founded in 2011 and now the leading lifestyle magazine for young creative professionals, you need Kinfolk in your lives!

Next up is a new discovery for us here at FBrides, but boy are we hooked.

Let's hear it from them, shall we?

'Our aim is to act as a great big RESET button - changing and updating readers' perceptions of what the city is actually like. Because we spend a good amount of time in each city, you won't get the typical fly-by top 10 lists, tourist hotspots or new openings - you'll actually get to meet the locals, learn some secrets, and be inspired by these cities that are full of life and passion.' For each issue, we physically move to the focus city for a few weeks setting up our studio and working with locals to create the content. The locals get to decide what they want the world to know about their city, and we work day and night to uncover stories that don't usually get told. This inside/outside approach to a city keeps the perspectives varied and balanced and the overall content raw and often surprising. Digging deep in each city, Boat Magazine presents gritty, honest, inspiring editorial through interviews, features, stunning photography, personal profiles, artwork and fiction.

...Perfect for those driven by their wanderlust!

And as for the photography in this publication, I mean, seeeeriously!

Next up comes a dose of sheer Cali-cool...

Bare Magazine is the University of California's premier fashion, lifestyle, and art publication.

Entirely student-run and produced, Bare embodies the diversity of looks, trends, and people at Cal and all over the Bay Area.

So if you're California dreamin' this magazine will totally take. You. There.

This next subscription is one I've experienced first-hand and would whole-heartedly recommend!

'OH COMELY IS A LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE WITH LIFE It is a magazine that makes people smile, full of quiet moments and stories. Read it with a cup of tea or a toddy. It inspires people to be creative, talk to their neighbours and explore new things. There are adventures that capture the feeling of being free, stories from people with tales to tell, recipes to warm your heart, and crafty things to make. All these things, wrapped up in beautiful words, illustration and photography.'

Providing an astoundingly beautiful aesthetic and a true sense of escapism through its pages, allow me to introduce (and fully endorse) Oh Comely ...

Like I said, this is a fantastic gift for any gal pal / mum / super cool nana.

Full of quirky character, dreamy imagery and with a wonderfully clean, minimal feel, Oh Comely is a firm favourite with Festival Brides.

This next magazine is perfect for any newly-engaged mates or family members you might be looking to buy for...

The ridiculously cool bridal magazine, Hello May ...

...Yup, you already guessed it, Hello May comes to you from the trend-setting, infallibly-cool down under!

I'll let its creators, Emma and Sophie, tell you a little about their amazing mag:

' The creation of Hello May came about for one very simple reason. There's a hell of a lot of awesomely talented and insanely creative people out there working to make the quirks of your wedding day every bit as unique, fun, and inspiring as you imagine it to be - we wanted to connect all those wonderful wedding vendors with inspired brides and grooms-to-be.'

The most incredible inspiration from sunny Australia, right to your British front door!

We LOVE!

And last, but certainly not least, is the effortlessly cool Nordic journal, Oak.

Really though, that cover just says it all, no?!

Looking at the unfathomably cool depths of Nordic culture, food and design, Oak is a new bi-annual magazine.

With a focus on the lifestyle and the people involved in this seriously stylish magazine's creation, Oak really is a must-have for any it-girl.

Think iconic style combined with amazingly understated photography and you've imagined this insanely rad publication.

Now, come on, who's buying me this?!

I'll see you guys on Christmas Eve for a little trend post on the chicest way to embrace Christmas decor for your winter wedding, but be sure to tune in tomorrow for Laura's 2nd day of Christmas goodies!

Peace + Love
