Winter Wonderland Christmas Wedding

Winter Wonderland Christmas Wedding

via

The white tones of a winter wonderland were on display at the Christmas wedding of Alexandra Morgan & Maury Holub at El Campo Country Club. With a deep love for all things Christmas, the couple harnessed the design that makes Christmas great. From mercury glass to white ornaments with sprigs of green, Alexandra & Maury gave their guests an early Christmas start! Extra special touches to the day included 9 Christmas trees, a snow machine even an ice sculpture! For the true whimsical spirit, Alexandra treated Maury to an early wedding gift, an ice cream sundae bar for everyone! You've gotta love the Christmas wedding spirit, one that Alexandra & Maury put on display so well!

Novella of the Bride...

I would say Maury & I both are extremely laid back. We met at a restaurant in our small town where I was a waitress and he would come in for lunch a lot with his family. We reconnected after I had already joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, California (he was in Texas) and dealt with the struggles of a long distance relationship until I was able to get out of the Navy and move back to Texas. Our first date was an offshore fishing trip and from then on we knew we were right for each other if we could spend an entire day 100 miles off the coast with each other with no outside communication. We love to travel together and spend time at home with our dog. We got engaged on October 18, 2012, on a quiet Thursday evening. Basically, Maury had the ring in his pocket and couldn?t stand having such a big secret, so he didn?t make it to the weekend he had planned (which was fine with me because we could celebrate the whole weekend with our friends and family).

We wanted a white winter wonderland. We love the holidays and wanted everyone to feel like extended family home for Christmas and celebrating our most special day. We put up 9 flocked Christmas trees, had a snow machine, ice sculpture, traditional Czech appetizers, A LOT of mercury glass, and an ice cream sundae bar (which was part of Maury?s wedding gift since he LOVES ice cream) We loved the space we choose as there were separate rooms so that each room had a different look and feel. Some people were dancing on the dance floor in the tent, while others snacked and socialized in a more quiet, laid back area near the fireplace. I wanted it to feel a lot like being at home, where everyone was comfortable.

A Little Help From Their Friends ~ Maury?s mom was THE biggest help. She is the one to thank for our entire wedding. She and I went to the Houston Nutcracker Market and what feels like every Christmas store in Texas to prepare for the big day. She spent the entire day before setting up and decorating with her friends while Maury and I prepared for the wedding. We will never be able to thank her enough for making our wedding day perfect.

Favorite Moments ~ Finally making it down the aisle to be with Maury. I was nervous about everyone watching me until I got there with him and then it felt like we were the only two people in the room.
